The Hotel is fantastic - rooms and communal facilities are modern, clean and well equipped. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of food for breakfast is possibly the best I've ever experenced at a hotel. The terrace outside the breakfast room is also used as a bar/diner in the evening and is a very pleasant, quiet space in a busy city.
The Hotel is well connected to public transport with two metro lines, the Monjuic Funicular and a bus stop directly outside the Hotel allowing easy access to Pz Espanya and Catalunya (for Airport and Tourist buses), and the key sights (e.g. Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Montjuic) in less than 15 minutes. The Port and La Rambla are within walking distance.
Until the last evening of our stay, I would have given a 10/10 review. Sadly, during dinner at a nearby restaurant my mobile phone was stolen.
The support and advice from the Hotel staff was great.
Tourists are warned about the risks of pickpockets in La Rambla. In reality this is a problem everywhere in Barcelona according to Local Police - and particularly Raval and Paral-lel where the hotel is situated.
In summary, if you're prepared to accept the risks to visit the unique sites of Barcelona I thoroughly recommend INNSIDE Apolo.
Personally, until the police get control of petty crime and risks to tourists i will give Barcelona a miss and visit 'safer' cities in Spain (with equally unique sights to visit) like Valencia.
