"I think we came during a quiet time which was ideal for us! No noisy neighbours! The room was imaculate and very cosy!! The heater and all other amenities worked amazing they even had a mini heater in the bathroom which was a first and being winter it was AMAZING! a bit outdated but as a castle i think thats the vibe and we loved it! My 3 year old keeps talking about the castle now 😆 i would recvomend coming during the weekend as thats when everything is open we didnt do our research and just thought it was open daily and stayed during the week but had other stuff planned to do in ballarat anyway but a good heads up if you want the full castle experience during your stay :) plenty of free things that are open 247 and the cool little photo props and castle details are great! "

"Easy check in & staff very pleasant and helpful with any queries. Spacious room, great bistro & excellent food . Windows on freeway side of accommodation room’s need to be double glazed to negate traffic road noise’s. So clients can get a good nights sleep.."

"A clean and cosy environment which had been decorated and styled with great taste. A novelty to have beautiful original artworks rather than the usual generic prints . Lovely comfortable bed and modern bathroom . "

"What is not to like about this property? It's cosy, clean and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host was friendly and easy to contact but respected our privacy. Complimentary breakfast items and wine were provided along with fire wood and cooking staples. The bed was super comfortable. This place is in such a beautiful setting with an idyllic view over the valley. We sat for hours on the deck listening to the sounds of nature around us, watching the sun come up or the night slowly set in. A surprise bonus was we were lucky enough to watch the Aurora Australis turn the night sky to a riot of colour during the recent geomagnetic storm. All of these components made for a magical stay. We have already recommended Iron bark cabin to several friends and would love to return again soon. Thanks to Heather and family for creating this beautiful place."
