"My partner and I spent three nights here for the festival, and it's a clean student accommodation. The good thing is the reception is 24 hours, and the room is clean. Also, it's a walking distance to the most sightseeing spots in Edinburgh. However, the twin bed is difficult for two adults even though I am small. "The staff of the a&o are excellent. They are the reason why I gave this place a 5 star. For a hostel, it was also very clean and well taken care of. I appreciated the restaurant and bar that was on the ground level. It was a nice place to relax and wait for our room to be ready. It was minimal amenities and the front elevator was out, so we had to climb stairs or walk around to the back of the building for the other elevator. However, this was a small inconvenience. "Great location for city. Really terrible cheap mattress, you could feel every spring digging in your back or side. I feel sorry for the students staying at this uni. Everything else was good, but if you want to sleep well, go elsewhere. "

"Great convienent location right next to the train station and close to the Royal Mile along with a short walk all the other main attractions. Quiet rooms (bar some inconsiderate guests) and decent facilities. Staff were lovely and helpful. "

"The accommodation is over priced for what you get. There were hairs and black pubic hair in the bed when I pulled back the duvet - something I wasn’t expecting to see. The bedding is poor quality; the pillows are flat micro fibre, duvet thin micro fibre and the mattress cover is thin almost see through, the mattress is poor quality too. "Property allowed flexible check in due to delays in our trip. Booking was most likely mixed up with another as original booking was for 2 females in double bed booking. Check in receipt listed 2 males for one bed for occupancy of 2. Property location was what we were looking for along our journey traveling. "
