"The large common area is spacious and lovely with a large dining table and a good kitchen. It was perfect for our large group coming to Paris for a reunion.  We used it for a gathering spot, but only six of us were able to sleep there, which meant one person had a not very comfortable place to stay. Originally a workshop, two loft areas were built to create the maximum number of sleeping areas, but many of those areas are cramped or dark. One sleeping area has ceilings too low to stand up. "The location was excellent and the staff was wonderful. Our stay at Hotel Magenta 38 was great…very close to the metro, restaurants and shopping. Would stay there again. The only tip I have is for people not to add the ‘hotel booking protection’ from Expedia because only God knows what it’s for, it doesn’t count toward your reservation and there’s basically no use/reason for it. I’ve disputed this w/ Expedia, just waiting to hear back (nothing to do with the hotel). "
