"My room was on the top floor and I had a number of heavy suitcases, so carrying them up was quite exhausting after a long flight and ride from Schiphol. In late August, the room was very warm as it had a glass door on one side and three large windows/doors on the other. So sun most of the day. "We stayed in the island lodge. The lodge itself is very nice, only downpoint of the actual lodge is lack of storage space in the kitchen. My biggest complaints about this place were 1. When making the booking it NEVER mentioned that the only way to access your lodge is via a small rowing boat. I kid you not. "This property has 2 rentals next to each other. Carola and Joris are very approachable and wonderful hosts. They want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each unit is newly renovated and comfortable for 1-2 people to stay in. It is conveniently located near the Maxima Park, shops and lots of beautiful bike and walking paths. "What a wonderful apartment! Central location with easy access to shops and restaurants as well as easy access to the Floriade. Apartment was clean and well equipped with linens, soaps, and kitchen supplies. Amsterdam and the airport are but a short train ride away. Paul was a great host, even taking us for a tour of Almere’s canals. Check in and out was a breeze. We highly recommend this apartment to others."
