Ancient factory still as it was when built in 1903, using its own water driven machines and electricity generator. A tour was included during our stay. Although somewhat isolated, access to restaurant services available within 10 to 15 minutes by driving to the external road, outside the boundary fence, of a motorway service area and passing through a pedestrian gate to shop as required. "

"The receptionist was friendly warm and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and the best shower of our whole trip. I only wish there had been a kettle in the room to make a coffee in the morning. The food in the restaurant area, next door was wonderful. Again, the receptionist helped out in the breakfast room which became a little hectic but was nevertheless all that we needed. A very pleasant stay and I would happily stay there again. "

"The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Though I had booked a double room I was given two singles but, only because the key given was incorrect ( easy to confuse a 6 & 9!) but it was no issue for me, I should have questioned it but with two dogs in hand easier to just settle in the first room! We were late yet they still gave us a table in the restaurant, and OMG the food was amazing. Next day breakfast delicious, loads of home made...

Very quiet village, with no restaurant or bars, and we weren't aware the host would cook meals on request. Our only complaints were not being able to eat in our room and new towels are required! "The confirmation said that the reception would be open from 8 am to 10 pm. We arrived at 3 pm and no one was there. I followed instructions about self check in but was told electronically that the room was not ready. The telephone number did not work. I called Hotels and they contacted the proprietor who asked for my name an reprogrammed the computer check in. It did no fact work and we checked in . The balance of the service was excellent. "
