"We had a great stay overall. The check-in was the easiest and quickest we have experienced in quite some time. There was free coffee / tea available by the reception all day, a very nice touch in the cold. The sauna in the central building is spacious and convenient. We also had a private sauna in the beach house we stayed in - this was an amazing surprise (should be called out in the room's details!). In terms of location, both Sommaroy island and the hotel are great - to enjoy the scenery and to hunt for the northern lights. The only suggestion we would have is to maybe install dimmer street / outside building lights if possible - I imagine a lot of people visit for the northern lights, which are more difficult to see due to light pollution (especially when external building lights are accidentally left turned on)."

We were a little disappointed it was so far from the City center, but once we figured out the transportation system, it was quite easy to get around. It is probably walkable to the center in the warmer months."

"My fiancé and I just stayed one night in one of the West Village igloos and we couldn’t have been happier. From start to finish everything was absolutely incredible! The ladies in reception were lovely, and extremely helpful and informative. The igloo exceeded all of our expectations. After reading a number of reviews with negatives, I have to say I couldn’t possibly disagree more. It’s enchanting. The workers are friendly. The food was fantastic. The igloo clean and so unique!! It was a once in a lifetime experience that I hope to do again. "

"Totally amazing hotel in every way - friendly service, really helpful for storing bags (before and after check in/out), amazing location right on the docks and by the bus station. Also the cable car shuttle bus goes from outside, as well as our whale tour. Everything is 'just along the road' or you might already be right by it! 7-11 stores, tourist information etc etc. We had a family room which happened to be on 11th floor. The view was amazing and we enjoyed just spending time in the room with a drink, looking out at the views. The beds were really comfy and the linen so good I considered buying some! My son was on a double sofa bed which he said was really comfortable too. I liked that there was an 'open divide' section where the TV was one side and desk on the other - it gave us privacy. We also had a table and 4 chairs, fridge (mini bar), kettle and coffee machine. Toiletries were in refillable canisters on the wall and the hotel is actively trying to reduce it's energy usage - they had their recent reduction achievements on the breakfast restaurant wall. Breakfast was huge and delicious. So much choice and everything was sparkling clean in the dining room. The times for breakfast were really good too - meaning you could have a bag to take away if before 7am, and sit down breakfast until 11am - perfect if you've had a late night aurora hunting. There are cheaper hotels, but I doubt you'd find better. Well worth the splurge."

Enda negativa (och detta var säkert en miss från städet): Det fanns kvar öppnade snacks och gammal dipp i minibaren från tidigare gäst samt att det hade väldigt hjälpsamt om det hade funnits ett skohorn tillgängligt på rummet.
