"We had a great stay at Awakino and the location was unbeatable. We had functions to attend in Mokau which was really ply only a few minutes away. We also traveled to Waikawau and it made it so easy to get to. I would recommend this premises for anyone. The owner was very accessible and very friendly even leaving some homemade biscuits and farm fresh eggs for us. It was an older style house and had everything we needed. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a good place to stay in the area. Thank you Jenny for a great stay. "

"Was a lovely weekend get away with the family. Grate views from the deck and rooms, with loads of space to relax in. Beach was warm and the fish were biting. Everything we needed was there and check in and out was a breeze. "

"Everything about this spot and stay was seamless and stunning. The views, the location, the ability to still work (I was on a work trip) and have reception was an extra bonus. The host was great to communicate with and there was everything we could need. So happy the fire was stoked and ready to roll. Despite being so high up and a heritage building.. the newly installed joinery meant the heat was not lost at all through the night and it was a really comfortable and safe stay. Appreciate the opportunity to stay in your wonderful spot!"

"Suited our group of 4 perfectly for a weekend of gravel cycling. Evan graded the drive for us and it was no problem for our AWD vehicles (certainly a challenge to bike up) and seeing your 2 x Nissan Leaf's at the top made me laugh :-) Ideal facilities for our stay with all we needed and the selection of records was enjoyed. Loved the woolshed, fireplace, bike storage and shower water pressure! We hope to come again some time. It would be cool to paddle a kayak on the lake."

"This is a special, one of a kind place. Nestled among a sheep farm and a river. Turkeys come by in the morning. Cows are watching all day. You feel complete privacy and have a stellar view to the beautiful surroundings as 2 walls are completely windows. Think of it as a magical camping experience with a luxury bed and shower. Every little special touch just adds to the charm. There is no dishwasher or oven, hence the camping feel. Plan to barbecue and make simple one pot meals and you will be in total heaven. My husband even caught trout down by the bridge"
