Cana Pointe Lake House has been outfitted to provide a memorable experience to your whole group. Floor to ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings bring the beautiful outdoors into every room. The home has Starlink internet and cable TV service, but we hope you can unplug at least some of the time. An elevator facilitates mobility between floors.
Guests have found the following aspects of the home to be particularly appealing:
- Outdoor deck with grilling facilities off the great room just steps from the dining table also includes a fire table with chairs
- A separate home office as well as another secluded study desk with strong internet
- An electric car-charging outlet

Cana Pointe Lake House rests on a peninsula overlooking Lake Michigan surrounded by the protected Boreal Forest of Baileys Harbor and a stone’s throw from the iconic Cana Island lighthouse. The immediate area can be enjoyed during all four seasons. Our guests enjoy the changing moods of Lake Michigan depending on light and wind conditions. Sunrises and moon risings are spectacular from every room. Northern lights and the Milky Way are often visible from the crow's nest when conditions are right.
Guests actively explore:
- The historic waterfront villages of Door County offer dining, shopping, art and culture. Dining options are many. Shopping is varied. According to Door County’s tourist bureau, over 100 art galleries and studios are scattered throughout the area. Several award-winning theatre groups perform during the season.
- Our location provides easy access to all the Door County attractions without the endless summer traffic of the bayside - a difference only appreciated with experience.
Outdoor activities are a hallmark of Door County and include:
- Boating – rental options on all types of boats as well as charter cruises are located throughout the county.
- Golfing – there are 8 courses on the peninsula and 4 miniature golfing for the small children
- Fishing – a top Midwest site for bass, walleye, perch, brown trout, and salmon – on your own or with one of the dozen charters. Ice fishing is available for the seasonally hardy. Note: A 32 pound brown trout was caught locally in April 2021.
- Hiking – there are 5 state parks, 19 county parks, and numerous village hiking trails. The Boreal Forest hike begins just steps away. Note: The autumn leaf colors in Door County vie with New England in annual surveys.
- Biking – through the state parks and along the rustic roads.
More extreme sports include wind surfing, scuba diving the over 100 shipwrecks along the coast, and zip lining.
- Guided nature walks at the nearby Ridges Sanctuary.
- Taking a ferry over to Washington Island to experience where the settling of Wisconsin started.
- The solitude of winter with cozy fires and the ability to enjoy winter sports like tubing, snow shoeing, ice skating, dog sledding, pond hockey, and cross-country skiing
