"Lots of authentic, historic charm. Our suite in Orchard House was wonderfully roomy. Comfy bed. Housekeeping is iffy - the coffeemaker had not been cleaned from prior occupants. Too bad there is no coffee service at all in the mornings, not even a machine or carafe in the lobby. The "coffee shop" is woefully inadequate and isn't even open most days. I like the place, though, and would stay again. Just have to adjust my expectations."

"We stayed here on our way out from Austin to Balmorhea Springs. We got there late and got graced with one of the starriest skies I've ever seen and spotted more meteors than I'd ever seen! Woke up to a gorgeous mountain view, and was sad to drive off... until I got to the the Springs, of course. Highly recommended! Would love to return."

"Highly recommend! Fossil+Folk is an excellent base to explore west Texas in every direction. Adventure and natural beauty abound! The golden leaves of the cottonwoods in fall are unforgettable. We had a problem checking in, but once that was taken care of it was smooth sailing. (A reminder to ourselves to always touch base with owners proactively 24 hours in advance.)
