Cosy welsh cottage in the heart of Snowdonia National Park

Pen-Y-Bryn Cottage means 'top of the hill" this cottage is exactly what you imagine when you think of a welsh cottage stay. Spectacular mountain views to the rear, looking over farmland and Blaenau Ffestiniog. With views towards the waterfall and mountains to the front, meaning you have picture perfect views from every window. Pen-Y-Bryn was built in the 1700's and has everything you need to complete your stay. Lovingly refurbished to a high standard providing the perfect base for exploring North Wales.

On the outskirts of the historic slate mining town Blaenau Ffestiniog nestled in some of the most dramatic scenery in North Wales. The small town offers a number of places to eat and shop and even hosts a small cinema. There is so much to do and see in there area. There are a number of key adventure attractions in the area including Zip World Titan, Zip Caverns and Bounce Below (deep mine zip wires and the largest underground system of trampolines in the world. Antur Stings downhill mountain bike centre is less than a mile away. The area also hosts the largest mountain bike trail centre in Wales, Coed-Y-Brenin is just a 20 minute drive from the cottage.

There are a number of walks straight from the property and a number of wild swimming spots that can be reached on foot. For those drawn to the area ready to tackle the many routes of Snowdon Pen-Y-Bryn is the perfect base. After a day of hiking you will be ready to take advantage of the wood fired hot tub with a glass of wine overlooking the mountains and enjoying a spot of star gazing.
Our favourite beaches are all close by with a short drive to the costal towns of Harlech and Criccieth both with great places to eat, drink and shop. Our particular favourite restaurant is Dylans, in the winter months we love to grab a coffee before we go searching for driftwood. The cottage also a short drive to the beautiful and enchanting village of Portmeirion an Italianate style village on the coast. Betws-Y-Coed and Porthmadog are also less than a 30 minute drive you really will not be short of things to do.
