"Our room was large but basic but well priced. Pool was nice and brekky was good. The staff were good. The ad showed a sitting area in the lobby which we were planning on using but were told on arrival it was a private area - this aspect dissappointed us. I think a car is neccessary when staying here"

"The medieval city of Carcossonne is amazing, like stepping back in time, and staying at the Hotel De La Cite just contributes to this feeling (although only build in 1880's). A grand, imposing building directly opposite the Basilicca puts it at the heart of the old city. "Lovely, comfortable property with beautiful views. The pool was a great asset to cool down in on hot days. Easy access to local supermarkets. Would recommend having a car to get out and about with. Hugo is an excellent friendly host with lots of great tips of where to go."

The house has no airflow, and the mosquitoes took full advantage of open windows. Don’t stay here in summer. The owner provided no basics such as salt and pepper, coffee filters, etc. Shopping is a 10 to 15 minute walk to La Bastide, which was fine except for the oppressive heat.
