We were anticipating a cozy room, in a country pub setting but, in reality, the D&P offers good value, chalet-style family rooms, each with it’s own car port, in a large area behind the pub itself. "This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"Only a 1-night stay on business, but the check-in was prompt and friendly, room comfortable, plenty of sockets for laptops, iPads, phones etc and the food in the restaurant (I had the meatball starter and combination shish for main), was excellent. Full English in the morning could have been a bit more impressive, but overall a good stay. Fully recommend for short business trips."
