Cool down with a dip in the sea and relax in the shade of a swaying palm tree. Go snorkeling in the clear water to spot a range of colorful fish and coral. Visit the Cinnamon Bay Plantation to see the 18th-century buildings of this historic site. Hear of the revolt of the slaves in 1733 and how certain slaves tried to ward off the rebels long enough for the plantation owners to escape. Many of the buildings and fields were burned.

Cinnamon Bay is on the northern coast of the island of St. John. To reach St. John from Cyril E. King International Airport on St. Thomas, take the safari bus to the port, where a ferry will take you to St. John. While on the island, explore other areas such as Trunk Bay, where this is more excellent snorkeling conditions, and Maho Bay, a great spot to see sea turtles.
