Only problem was when booking through 3rd party can’t use pool unless £15/person for 48 hour pass . Not much point when only there for 12 hours .No flexibility on this . "A good old style hotel with lots of character right in the centre of Carlisle. Easy access to the castle and cathedral and the shopping area of Carlisle. Unfortunately there was considerable reconstruction work on the square in front of the hotel, but not a fault with the hotel, just took away a bit of the atmosphere of Carlisle. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."
