"This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and overall we were pleased with the hospitality and level of service. However, they have now switched to a buffet style breakfast as opposed to waiter service. We felt the breakfast was not as enjoyable as some of the breakfast items were cold as they had been placed in the tray for too long."

"Comfortable nights sleep, the food was excellent, high quality ingredients and cooked beautifully. Only 2 things that where bit of issue was £10 a day parking at hotel, which was extra think for the money you pay to stay, it should be included. The hotel spa wasn’t working due to refurbishment but didn’t know about it until we arrived ."

"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

"The bedroom had no lighting above the mirror to dry and style your hair . It Might of been just room 20 that suffered from poor lighting . My parents had room 21 and that had a balcony , and seemed to have better lighting "

"Very helpful friendly staff. Food was good and tasty. Room had a couple of cobwebs however clean bedding and bathroom. Nice and warm for January temperatures. Lovely clean carpets throughout with clean upholstered chairs. There were scuffs on the wood panelling throughout and some paint needed attention "

"A beautiful old building. Stunning views. The staff were amazing every one of them, could not do enough for you, anticipated needs before we had them. The food was stunning although rich and fancy, be nice to have lighter options. Could have been warmer but the fires were on and all radiators all the time and it was in the minus numbers in a very old house so it’s forgiven. "
