"Enjoyed our 2 nights here. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and had many choices! Property is serene and feels wonderful. The view from the pool and dining area of Lions Rock is fabulous. Many choices of restaurants in the area within 10 minutes walking. We ate a la carte dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and thought it was great - vegetable curries with rice, vegetable spring rolls and nasi goreng. We also walked to Lions Rock and on to Pidurangala Rock - it takes about a half hour to each, so plan for a minimum 1 hour walk each way. Overall, really liked it here. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be close to the rock. "

"This is a beautiful and well-designed hotel in a unique location next to the lake and jungle. The staff were attentive and thoughtful. The only downside was the dining options - the menus are international and expensive, and the remote location of the hotel makes it difficult to eat elsewhere. We would have preferred more local Sri Lankan options. However, the buffet breakfast was varied and impressive."

"A little bit of frustration as it could be a gem, but the attention to details in the room make it average. Service was excellent, food was superb and properly priced, rooms were big and well designed, the flaw lies in the attention to details. Mosquito marks on the walls, cracks not plastered, gaps in doors that allowed bugs and animals (geckos and frogs) to come inside, mosquito net in shower room with wide gaps…I would be expecting this not to happen in a 4 star hotel"

"The place is serene and simply stunning. If you want to have a relaxing holiday, not doing much but hanging out by the swimming pool, cycling around rice fields, enjoying locally produced organic vegetable meals away from crowds of tourists and being attended to by friendly staff - here is your spot. It is in the midst of the nature so if you have limited tolerance to wild life, maybe reconsider, but I consider such place in this world today as a hidden gem. It was a perfect get away for us and would love to come back again. "

"Very expensive stay for not much facilities. Staff barely able to understand requests. No timely answers for queries before we arrived at the property. Staff do not go out of the way to make your experience pleasant at all. Breakfast was below average. For the expensive pricing, you would expect a better spread, but no. Cleanliness of property is also below average when you compare with similar properties in the price range."
