"Chef, reception staff and owner went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Generous size ensuite room with fabulous outlook and balcony. Warm and cosy and totally appropriate to prepare for and then recover from the Tongariro crossing (hot tub) and to explore Ruapehu. We'll be back for a week next time. "

"This was such a lovely experience! Very friendly staff, beautiful vintage feel, clean and well kept! Excellent beer and steak in the bar below, and they even offer a complementary breakfast, we had the muesli which was homemade and delicious! The only room for improvement is that the water pressure in the shower is low.. But aside from that everything was just lovely! Will definitely come back again! "

"I really don't know how this place is still operating!!! Broken curtains, black mold , Damp smell, unsafe lift, and it goes on!!"

"I honestly really liked this place! It’s older, and you can tell it has a little wear and tear, but you can tell they do a good job keeping everything clean. There were plenty of blankets and pillows in the room if you wanted to add more to the bed, and the rooms were very spacious. I slept really well here and the water pressure was great in the shower. The staff was also super helpful when we brought up what hikes we had planned. They gave us lots of good tips!"

"Very friendly welcome. Room had everything we needed. Only downside was we were in a ground floor room (as requested) and there was some noise from the room above. Also, being next to the stairs we got some noise from people going up and down the stairs. Location is excellent, lots of amenities within walking distance."
