Great bedrooms and lots of spacious social space. Good communication throughout. Would happily stay again if we hold another group get together."

"Fabulous walking area - comfortable rooms "

"We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. The beds were very comfortable but the bedding felt damp. There are no instructions on how to heat the water. The house does have heating but this is controlled remotely by the host which isn't a viable option if you get in late or the weather is variable. The garden is overgrown and the lawn unkempt. The house is a good base for walking in the area, but not somewhere you would wish to spend time in. We ate out every evening and spent time playing cards and games at the local Buxton Brewery taproom just to avoid going back to the house. It just needs a lick of paint, constant low level heating for the damp and a proper clean and it would have been ideal. "
