We stayed at Prince Hill House for the first night of our honeymoon. The house is amazing; five years ago it was an almost derelict property. Since then it has been lovingly restored by the owners, using many original or reproduced items.
We stayed in the Sikorski room, which is the honeymoon suite. Prince Hill House was owned by one of the Spencer-Churchill family, and during the second world war was used to host secret meetings between Churchill, General Eisenhower, and General Sikorski. Each of the three main guest bedrooms has been restored and named after one of the historic figures.
The furnishings and features were first class, with a huge bathroom and a super-king bed. We had a comfy and very quiet night's stay, even though there were other guests at the property.
Breakfast the following morning was excellent; much of the food was locally sourced.
The house is now licensed for weddings, and in addition to the bedrooms there are family suites and cottages in the grounds.
