"To get to the rooms you have to go through the bar - open 24/7. This is why you must be 21 to stay there. Outside there is a huge games area. If it's busy you can hear from your room. Luckily they provide you with ear plugs. Rooms were clean & beds comfortable - bathroom dated. Good location - walking distance to Fremont St. All the staff were incredible! Free tea & coffee served between 6-12pm."

"This was my first time staying downtown and I think El Cortez was perfect. Easy walk to Fremont and the Container Park. Bars and restaurants at the hotel were excellent, the room was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. All future trips I will stay here. It was the best. So much better than the strip. "
