"Such a wonderful little hotel in an ideal location. 5 minute walk from the pier and arcades, 15 minutes or so to both shopping centres ( Gunwharf/cascades ) with the theatre being even closer if that is included in your poa for your time away! Lovely clean rooms, quite a personal experience with only me and my wife with the owner at breakfast but we liked it that way. Would recommend to anyone and will be back soon! Also lovely bar and atmosphere for drinks in the evening."

"We had a great one night stay at the Bosun's Chair. Welcomed warmly on arrival and the room was really beautifully decorated and comfy and cozy at the same time. Nice size bathroom and lovely welcome touches of biscuits and water. And I would go there just for breakfast - the breakfast was top notch. Good options and wonderfully cooked. Would definitely stay again"

"Excellent traditional English inn with lots of charm and character. The comfortable, warm room on a freezing January night was most welcome, as were the open log fires in the bar/restaurant. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and the food was to a very good standard. The Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Bitter was an unexpected bonus !"

"The welcome I received was super and, from the get-go, all the staff were extremely happy to help in any way, possible. Martyn was a super star with nothing being too much trouble or inconvenient! I had the rather embarrassing situation of having my (company) credit card declined upon arrival however, with a simple smile and very pleasant attitude, Martyn waved away the immediate situation with a view that 'we can look at it again, tomorrow'. Unfortunately, the beer was too good and the room...

"The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process."

"If I could rate our stay 10000/10 I would. Staff friendliness and kindness went above and beyond. The cleanliness of the hotel and the room was impressive and the bed made us feel like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was lovely as well. Also it’s a 15 minute walk to Burley Village. My cousin and I loved our stay at Moorhill House!"

"The photo is taken from the back garden so the front looks nothing like expected. The location is lovely but the house itself needs modernisation. It was relatively clean but smelt a bit musty. Not the worst place I have stayed but it was like staying with your nan in the 1970's. The host was pleasant but a little eccentric. "

"The place had a nice calming vibe and was well situated near the docks/city centre. The breakfast was delicious but paying for it in advance, it seemed like the same rate applied to children/adults but at the hotel there was a reduced rate for children. Views of Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle. . . . Plenty of coffee, tea etc. Shower room was clean and bright, with big soft towels galore. Food in the restaurant was delicious and service great. We have already booked to go back later in the year!"
