So, lived in a room that could not be locked from outside. For room upgrade,the answer was difference between rack rate and what I paid through hotels.com. Even the commission amount was not offered in the offset price. One set of front staff is good,another is purely commercial. In all I may not stay here in future"

"Hospitality is excellent and location is perfect. Management is very responsive and staff hospitable. However there is a disconnect on the online booking regarding already paid breakfast option which doesn’t reflect on the hotel account which can be an irritant. Also the food could be improved upon. Otherwise excluding online booking confusion and a little improvement in the food this place deserves a 5 star. "

"LaLiT is a historic building, near the colonial seat of power when Calcutta was the capital of the British Raj. The traffic around the hotel is chaotic, not to mention crowded. But the staff were wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and will stay there again when we are next in Kolkata."
