Great stay
The lilac Victorian was a great home base to explore the redwoods. Our family was super comfortable (4 adults and 4 kids) and highly recommend Los Bagels in town for anyone spending some time.

Redwood Trip!
Great historic place, location. A few homeless roaming nearby, it is what it is though. Found a few dishes sticky, not cleaned, but not a deal breaker. Overall good👍

Best for our pre-wedding readiness - just stay here!
My now-husband and I live locally but wanted a place with some space and separation so we could get ready for our wedding separately but also accommodate our family and friends getting ready with us. This home provided EXACTLY what we were looking for! As the photos already show, the first floor is complete with a living room, dining room, spacious and large kitchen with bar island seating, a large master bedroom with a half bath, a full bath, a separate small study room, washer/dryer, private backyard. The upstairs is interconnected with the first floor but also has a separate locking door to allow for complete division of both floors. Each floor has their own entrance if floors are utilized separately. The second floor has its own living room, a small kitchen with a dining room table, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. I didn’t check every couch but in both the upstairs and downstairs, the living rooms each have a pullout bed in the couch for extra sleeping quarters. One of my favorite features which seems small but I adored was that nearly every room had dimming lights suitable for whatever type of light you might be looking for. Overall, I have absolute no complaints and nothing but amazing things to say about this home. Also, the true Victorian style aesthetics really gave us some gorgeous photo opportunities. Note: For non-local people, this home is located in “Old Town” Eureka which is meant to be in the more tourist area of town. Having said that, Eureka has experienced an influx of homeless persons, and Old Town is easy access to nearly all types of amenities and a men’s shelter. While we experienced no dangerous situations with any homeless persons, you should be aware not to leave ANY valuables in your vehicle at any time. We did return to the rental to find one homeless fella on the front porch charging his electronic devices. We kindly asked him to move along and had zero issues. Additionally, this is right down the street from the Carson Mansion which makes for phenomenal photographing opportunities.

Wedding (family of the bride)
Everybody loved the house. It is beautiful. All the brides friends wanted a tour of the cool house. Showing a bit of wear but otherwise gorgeous Would love to return for a less hectic visit

Cute
Sweet house, especially if you get both floors. Great as a base to explore the surrounding areas of Ferndale, Arcata and Trinidad. Felt safe but neighborhood is sketchy. I could see this being a good place for a family trip, holiday get-together or graduation weekend (the renamed Cal Poly is nearby).

Beautiful Home in Downtown Eureka
This house is stunning. We had both floors and loved everything about it. Beds are comfortable, everything clean and well supplied. I had read comments about homeless in the area, but we had no problems. Saw a few, but they went away and never bothered us. Highly recommend renting this unit!

Ok
It’s a comfortable home, had all the amenities I was looking for. But, I had some concerns. The master bedroom couldn’t be locked from the inside. So anyone could pretty much barge inside if they had to. Also one of the bathroom doors was loose. I also had the worst experience on a vacation. My car was vandalized (someone broke my rear windshield). If you can provide garage parking and/or some security cameras that would be great.

excellent house in an excellent location
The house was in excellent condition and the street was very quiet during the night. The bedrooms could use some blackout curtains. Several things that we wish they had available in the kitchen: pizza pans, meat thermometer, simple dish drying rack, and aluminum foil.

Clean and functional.
This home was conveniently located and well equipped with good quality kitchen tools. We rented both units that were connected by a pocket door. It was nice to have two kitchens. The neighborhood had ample homeless people but security was good. There were ants but they provided non-toxic ant spray. Hot water seemed insufficient upstairs but ample downstairs. I would definitely rent again

Fantastic House...Location to Improve
This house was in the top 3 houses we have stayed with in the VRBO network. We have been doing these rentals for many years and have a wide variety of experiences. Our Kids apply named the house the "Pink Lady" and it was an immediate favorite. Well designed interiors,, great amenities and decent cleanliness. THe historical Victorian charm is second to none, and the view of the Carson Mansion and the Boats on the bay are wonderful... There is only ONE watch out!!! There are many homeless and drugged out people walking and sleeping in the area. Everyday we had someone walking and yelling at ghosts, wird characters trying to start a conflict, or even random people practicing their "whipping" technique with an actual whip. So obviously you cannot venture out at night without protection, and be careful walking. However, if you do walk, once you get to the old town Eureka it is decent enough during daylight.
