"The property shows well in the online pictures, but doesn’t deliver to what you would expect for the price in person. Convenient location to downtown, but near a noisier street. This vacation rental property is in need of some refresh and better upkeep. Given the premium price, the owner/property manager seemed unaware of issues – broken tiles along the pool, stained/dirty outdoor furniture cushions – and cleaning was marginal at best (lots of spiderwebs, dirty windows, everything outside filthy, minimal pool cleaning). Some issues are to be expected, but the volume of issues were significant and present from the outset. One should not have to engage in extended dialog in order to obtain the ability to turn on and off the spa without texting the owner each time when the spa heat is included in the cost of the rental. Moreover, over half of our four week stay was significantly impacted by loud jackhammering and stinky asphalt smell while the main road nearby was being regraded and repaved. The owner never disclosed that this work was going to be taking place during our rental, even though it was clear when we looked during our stay that the project had been approved 8 months earlier by the city and notices had been mailed to all homeowners in the neighborhood. When we raised this with the owner, she initially claimed no knowledge and later reluctantly admitted that notices had been mailed. We would not have rented this house during this time had we known of the work "
