Best Romantic Beach House, Newly Remodeled, French Leave Beach

Med Point is the best 1 bedroom beach house on the best beach in the best township in Eleuthera. It is a ROMANTIC, SECLUDED AND STYLISH ONE-BEDROOM OCEANFRONT BEACHHOUSE, located on Casuarina Beach and just 100' from French Leave Beach (formerly also known as Club Med Beach for the Club Med resort that was located there in the 90s). It is on the point between the 2 beaches. No other properties are between it and world-famous French Leave Beach. It is a short stroll to Twin Coves Beach and its superb snorkeling reef. Med Point Beach House is like a lighthouse guarding the north end of French Leave Beach, which is the loveliest and safest beach in Eleuthera. In addition, we are only a 1 mile stroll to the center of town.

Med Point cottage has just one neighbor, a house across the road from it. Med Point's large oceanfront deck and oceanfront area are completely private, shielded from view by the cottage itself. The beaches on either side of Med Point are usually deserted.

The house was NEWLY RENOVATED in 2018 by a Governors Harbour's premier designer, with wood floors, Brazilian cherry doors, large Pottery Barn sofas, and new white tiled bathroom. Comforts include 400 thread-count sheets and Thomas by Rosenthal china, and minimalist decor. Step outside the glass doors, and you will see ocean spreading away as far as you can see.

Med Point is a large 1000 square foot one-bedroom house with a huge 1100 square foot teak wrap-around deck facing the beach and ocean. It has all modern conveniences, with a full kitchen, great room, wifi and large sliding glass doors on two sides facing the ocean to maximize your view. It has a KING BED master suite. The dining area faces the ocean. The kitchen is well supplied with cookware.

Amenities include NEW SUPER-FAST STARLINK INTERNET, satellite TV w/100 channels including HBO, CNN, FOX, and BBC, ceiling fans, A/C, a gas grill, and a washing machine. There is a picnic table on the deck, and sun loungers.

Med Point is also close to Tear Coat Cay, a small island offshore, where you can snorkel; also close to lots of reefs for other snorkeling. The water is gin clear, 100 feet of visibility, and we have seen parrot fish, groupers, rays and other exotic fish. The water is 75 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit.

The drive to Med Point, takes you for about half a mile, on a sandy lane through French Leave Beach, looking out to sea and giant cacti and palms. An SUV is recommended for this road as it has rough patches. You will enjoy this splendid view of nature every day, as you go into town.

The famous bar/restaurant Tippy's is close, and there are upscale restaurants such as Sky Beach Club and 1648 Bar and Grill, Bachus Fine Foods within five minutes.

French Leave (Club Med) Beach stretches south for 1 mile: we are at the northern edge where it is quiet, with fewer tourists. Casuarina Beach, stretches north of us for another mile, and then Twin Cove beach stretches north for another mile or so. All of this can be walked along wide sandy pink beaches with excellent shelling. Or you can jog along the sandy path that is Old Banks Road and have wide vistas of white surf.

Most people who walk by Med Point, express regret that they are staying elsewhere! They tell us that they would like to spend their next holiday with us! Come and make your "couples vacation" a glorious dream.

Amazing honeymoon
We had the best time at Med Point, very relaxing and much needed after the stress of a wedding! The house and beaches were absolutely beautiful. Sonia was easily accessible if needed. There was an issue with the key prior to our arrival, so we had the leave the house unlocked at all times when we were away which made us a bit neevous, but is was all fine. A few things I would suggest- having some sort of welcome book or guide available- for example we didn’t know where to take the trash out too. And there’s was only one beach chair. At least one more chair, and the house definitely needs a beach umbrella for guest use. Also perhaps a small cooler to bring cold drinks to the water and lastly an outdoor shower head to rinse off after the ocean. Other than that, this place is amazing. Very remote, and I would say a 4x4 car is required- the road in and out is prettt hairy in a couple of places!

Beautiful home/location - experience needs some attention to detail
This home is perfectly located on the water and near two beaches as described. It's very private, and you couldn't ask for better views of the ocean. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and the tools you need to prepare a meal. We found the home clean and generally well maintained. And the house is perfect for a couple. Our experience would have been better if we'd known before we booked that you cannot drink the tap water and need to rely on bottled water during your stay. The house would also benefit from a manual that explains how to use the television... it's not obvious which remote to use or which service to select. And we struggled to open many of the sliding glass doors... they could benefit from some repair or WD40. While the house manager/caretaker was lovely by email/whatsapp, we never met her. She said several times that she was coming by, but she never did. As a result, we lingered around the house awaiting her arrival and lost time to do other things and felt a bit overlooked, especially when we were hoping to resolve issues with the home. We did end up cutting our week on Eleuthera short by four days. While frustrations with power and internet outages at the house contributed to that decision, I would still say this house is a lovely place to retreat and spend time.

Magical week
This property did not disappoint! The view was great the seclusion was wonderful and everyone associated with the property was very helpful. There was enough to do on the island to keep us busy, but we enjoyed the relaxing time on our beach. We only saw a handful of people the whole time we were on the beach, which was nice. We are certainly hoping that we can return again soon!

Location, location, location
Perched on the point between two stunning beaches with the most glorious sunrises. Also centrally located on the island, which was great for venturing to the many other amazing beaches. As others stated, Christine is a real gem. Took her up on arranging a welcome meal for the first night there. Her coconut pie is amazing! The cottage is just as pictured and described, a spacious beach spot. There was some modest wear on the walls, towels, and fixtures, but clean, comfy, and more than enough space for two. My only nit picky complaint was I wish there was an ice try to make a few cubes of ice and not have to purchase a whole bag. We didn’t do much cooking, mostly snacking at the cottage, but was ample space to do so. Remember to bring or prepared to buy spices and such. Also bring soft cooler or insulated bag to take down to the beach. The freezer had some cooling packs in it for use. WiFi and the start TV worked well if you need to take a break from the sun. The main house was considerably closer than I anticipated but not a deal. We could hear the kids playing in the pool now and then buts that’s about it. The neighboring guest had visited the island many times before and were a very helpful resource when we had car rental issues. Christine also offered to help in a pinch. Would definitely return to Med Point.

Superlative in every way
As others have previously stated, Med Point Cottage is an amazing location. It is thirty feet away from the surf with five floor-to-ceiling sliding doors providing a panoramic view. And yet, there is complete privacy. (There were no bed bugs.) To the right is the well-known French Leave pink sand beach. It’s a mile long and we never saw more than six people on it the whole eight days we were there. To the left is Casuarina beach. It’s about a half mile long and we were the only people on the beach the whole time except for a couple of people on walks. There is a large five-bedroom house behind the cottage (same owner) but you have almost no sense that it, or its occupants, are there. We were met by Christine Rolle, the resident manager for both houses. She was delightful. She advised that the washing machine was being replaced, but then she immediately offered to do our laundry for us The cottage interior has been thoughtfully decorated. Very simple. Very white. Interesting prints on the walls. The recessed halogen lighting creates a dramatic presentation of the space at night. There are three very silent ceiling fans and one very quiet air conditioner that do a fine job of keeping the house cool. Mentions were made about the firmness of the king-sized bed. We can confirm that is it very firm. We were fine with it. Others may not be. The house is about a one-hour drive from the North Eleuthera airport and is ten minutes from Governor’s Harbor. Others have mentioned the rough road that must be navigated to get to the house. It is, most definitely, rough. A car can make it if you’re gentle, but having an SUV is a much better idea. A few comments about shopping. There are two small grocery stores in Governor’s Harbor: Eleuthera Supply and Burrows. The selection at both is similar, but Burrows accepts credit cards whereas Eleuthera is all-cash. The availability of fresh vegetables and fruit is very limited. Very limited. And fresh herbs are non-existent. Better bring them with you. The most bizarre shopping problem is finding fresh fish. Before arriving, we read that local fishmen bring their catch to certain designated places in Governor’s Harbor and James Cistern. Maybe they do. But no matter what time, or which town, we would try, we would always hear that it was “too rough to go out,” or “he went out late and won’t be back until five,” etc. We gave up and bought some frozen tuna.

Bed bugs! Nice location, but do not go here
Do not go here. There was a massive bed bug infestation during our entire stay. My wife and I had approx 200 bites each on our bodies. Bed, floors, couches, rugs all infested. Property manager was informed. She did a spray and some laundry. That did not make the bugs go away. Then she got mad at us for saying they were still there! We had to do a deep cleaning and disinfection when we got home to prevent transfer of bugs to our house. No washer / dryer as promised. Cable and internet went out. Road to villa very rough. Must have jeep.

BEST BEACHES! BEST LOCATION! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
Med Point is absolutely the best! Causarina Beach where Med Point is located, is the prettiest beach on Eleuthera with it's golden sand, palms, & amazing water color. It is dreamy! I cannot say enough about this superb location. You also have French Leave Beach, a pink sand beach, right out your door within a few steps in the opposite direction. This beach goes on for days and is absolutely beautiful. Within 2 minutes you also have Twin Coves, 2 stunning beaches with terrific snorkeling. Old Banks Rd. is so special and just gives off a cast away vibe that sets the tone for your vacation! More fantastic beaches to explore past Twin Coves also. It is hard to not go explore Eleuthera, but you really have the most special beaches right at Med Point. Tippy's, Da Perk, French Leave Resort, Buccaneer Club, Bacchus, are all so close for dining. La Bougainvillea in N. Palmetto Pt. is not too be missed for a special dining experience! Gas, groceries, banking is 2 minutes away in Governors Harbour. Perfect Location to everything! One of my favorite things was just driving Old Banks Rd passing French Leave, viewing the beach from the road as you approach Med Point. Alfred House is the larger main house and is completely separate from Med Point, with total privacy for all. Can I just say what a magical wedding location this estate would be! Med Point is so perfectly decorated, and filled with beachy details. White washed wood floors, ship lap walls, wrap around windows with views for days, comfy huge sofas, perfect kitchen with all you need, huge bedroom offering more than enough room, comfy king bed, just great all white & blue decor that gets you in the island vibe. The living/dining space is quite large with plenty of room. I would not change a thing. The bathroom is terrific w/ views of Causarina Beach from the shower!! It was great to have the washing machine, I loved hanging my clothes on the clothesline, beachfront under the palms. Wrap around decks, one view of the Atlantic & the little island out front, and another view of Causarina Beach. I loved how all previous guests added to the collection of beach finds along the deck wall. This location is awesome for great beach finds, seaglass, coral, shelling. Management is terrific, along with Christine who can provide home cooked meals, and her famous pineapple cake! I would never stay anywhere else. Stayed 10 days in June and I just booked another week for early winter!

Beautiful, romantic beach for rest & relaxation!
My husband and I stayed at the house for our honeymoon in April 2017. The island, beaches, and community far exceeded our expectations. The beaches on both sides of the home were nearly deserted, and absolutely beautiful. We only encountered 1 or 2 couples on the french leave beach south of the house each day, and no one sat anywhere near us. The beauty of the beach can't be described! The only improvement I can offer on that part of the experience is - bring bug spray!!! Overall, the condition of the house met our expectations based on online pictures. The sheets, towels, and curtains had some staining, but just normal "wear and tear" on a rental property. Probably close to needing replacement. Everything was clean. The sliding doors were difficult to open and close, we ended up just using the front door the whole stay. The TV / DVD player and Wifi from the phone were all easy to operate and worked well. The Wifi was surprisingly fast. Overall, we would definitely rent here again. The homeowner and property manager could not have been better. They emailed us to make sure we got into the house OK, and asked if there were any issues they could assist with. We asked about fan control and noted a step in poor condition, and they replied immediately back. They also followed up after our trip as well. VERY WELL managed property. I do not recommend buying the offered meal from the caretaker. The food was decent, but we felt we were charged a lot, especially considering what we paid for other local meals. We had 5 chicken thighs, rice, coleslaw, and two pieces of cake, for $80. We got take away from Pammy's in town later that week, for $18, and had a much better meal.

Great Beach Vacation
This was our 2nd stay at Med Point and we definitely enjoyed our stay everybit as much as the first time. The house is very well appointed with beachy furniture and the views out the patio doors are perfect for sunrises. The location is absolutely fabulous being right on the point with 2 great beaches being just steps away. From Med Point it is an easy walk into town for groceries and great coffee at De Perk. The caretakers Christine and David were very helpful and Tara and Kirsten from Eleuthera Vacation Rentals handled our reservation very efficiently
