Perfect Highland Holiday
We had the perfect family Highland holiday in Mor Carraig with our young son (1yo) and his grandparents (70s). The property is as described and the photos do not do the viewing justice. The owner was quick to respond to queries we had during the holiday. We are already trying to plan when we can return for another holiday there!

What an incredible view!
We loved our stay at Mor Carraig! Wonderful period house with bags of character. The view of Loch Ness from the sun room is unmatched. Very prompt and friendly responses from the manager when we needed him. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful
Lovely house, great views of Loch Ness and easy to get to local shops and Inverness. Only downside was the sofa and lounge chairs in the conservatory which need a good clean as they were quite dirty.

Serenity and Beauty at its Finest!
Our stay was exactly what we needed..tranquility, beauty and comfort! The cottage was perfect in every way, a cozy retreat away from the hustle of the city and close enough to be convenient. Comfortable beds and bedrooms, a nicely appointed kitchen and utility room, 2 bathrooms and a cozy living room and conservatory with awesome views makes this home 5 stars and then some! Thank you for letting us stay, we hope to be back someday soon.

A much needed break
The house is set in a private but not secluded position with excellent views over loch Ness towards the mountains. The conservatory might get a bit cold, it was the middle of winter after all, but the main house is cosy and warm with plenty of fuel for the open fire if you care to use it. The kitchen is well appointed and the utility room set out so washing cloths is easy. All in all, an excellent place to stay and recharge. Both the owner and property manager were easy to reach for the few issues that came up and things went very smoothly.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Unloved
It is such a shame that the owner had no pride in this property. It is a lovely place in an unrivalled position. Sadly when we arrived the place was dirty, the curtain in the bedroom was hanging off the rail, the bedding is old and lumpy. These are all thing easily put right if you have the desire to do so.

Communication was very poor and there was no attention by anyone upon arrival or departure . The house was not very clean, many dishes had to be washed again, there was dust accumulated in many areas

Beautiful Stay
We stayed at Mor Carraig the last week of June. The house was just as described and looked in the pictures. After making your way up a single track road, the house was very easy to find using Paul's detailed directions. The key box was handy and we had no problems getting in to the house. There were ample instructions available for how to manage the heat, fireplace, etc. It's about a 30 min drive to Inverness. There are two bedrooms upstairs with the family bathroom. A third bedroom is downstairs with two twin beds. There's an additional toilet/shower facility downstairs. Attached to the kitchen is a laundry room, where the full size refrigerator is also located. In addition to the washer and dryer, there's also a wonderful drying rack that can be lowered from the ceiling. We made use of all of it and everything worked perfectly. The additional toilet/shower is attached to the laundry room. There is no sink. But there is a sink in the laundry room. The laundry room also has ample space for storing toiletries. We were three women and one man so our guy took the downstairs smaller shower room for his own while we shared the family bathroom upstairs. All three bedrooms were large with plenty of room for two adults to share. There were wardrobes with hangers available to hang your clothes. The beds were comfortable. The family bathroom was large with plenty of room to store toiletries for all three ladies. We didn't use the nice soaker tub, but the shower was a nice size. We used the kitchen for breakfast every morning and almost all evenings for dinner. The kitchen is well stocked with all that is needed for cooking. The stove/oven was easy to use. You will want to eat dinner here each night. It's a peaceful location. It was fun to watch how the landscape seemed to change hour to hour depending on the weather or cloud coverage. Two reasons for only 4 stars - First, the wifi is very spotty. We could only have one person on at a time, and even then, it was only after we restarted the router and would last for about 30 minutes. The internet problem is typical in the Abriachan area. So there's not much that can be done. Secondly, there was a leak in the kitchen during a rainstorm. We put out buckets and called Gren, the manager. This is something they are aware of and are just waiting on roofers, so should be fixed soon. Overall, I would go back tomorrow if I could...and stay a month. I highly recommend Mor Carraig.

One amazing anniversary trip!
My husband and I decided to go to Scotland for our 10th anniversary, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. I have heavy Scottish heritage through my maternal line, and have always felt drawn. Turns out even picking this place was a draw... There is a crest above the fireplace that said "MacDonald of Clanranald", which would have been started by the brother of my Glengarry line. It was meant to be! The views from Mor Carraig are awe-inspiring. We had incredible weather and loved the sunrises. We visited a lot of different places all over the Highlands. Being US travelers that are used to driving everywhere... It's a great jumping off point. The roads can be a little scary though. Mor Carraig itself was great. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory, and the living room was very comfortable in the evening. The cooking supplies could use a refresh (pans, cooking utensils, pizza cutter), but otherwise the kitchen worked great. Something to note is that one of the pictures shows a dryer in the utility room, but it's not on the description and it's not there. That's my bad for not looking at the description closer... But just make sure you are prepared to hang your clothes! There's racks for that purpose, and we made use of the conservatory to help speed it up as well. We would most definitely stay again! Thank you so much!

Beautiful house & area
So homely, easy to relax here and whatever the weather there is always plenty to do. Walks are easy to access from the door, dolphins up the road, castles, waterfalls, fossil beach on the Black Isle and always reading or games in the conservatory. Inverness itself is so convenient but you feel as if you’re fully in the countryside. Our second holiday here and hopefully not our last.
