A railway hotel with a grand entrance and one of the most dramatic staircases. Two nights in January and handy for both the railway station and the bus station. Room comfortable and bed good and large enough. Breakfast options good though on first day pastries a bit past their best. Enjoyed it though did not use the restaurant.

Rooms were very dated with damaged furniture (desk) and dented electric heater on the wall. The restaurant was very overpriced - £25 for basic fish and chips which had raw batter - and service was lacking. After waiting to get someone’s attention for about 15 minutes, in an almost empty room, I got up and order a drink at the bar. Better options in the area for the price.

Hotel is falling apart. The window of the toilet in the room could not close properly, heating not working as it should, smelly elevator. Staff ready doesn't care about anything. Terriible ans expensive breakfast. Avoid at al coats.
