"We had high hopes for this ryokan, and while the stay was overall great, there were a few downsides. The property itself is gorgeous, and the staff was kind and attentive, but the place definitely had a noticeable mildew smell, which took away from the experience a bit. Unfortunately, we missed out on both breakfast and dinner because we didn’t book those in advance (lesson learned). I tried reaching out 24 hours before check-in but never got a response, so just a heads-up to plan meals ahead...

"The staff and service are very professional, kind, and very patient with my lack of Japanese fluency. It occurred to me within the first few minutes at the property that it wasn't clearly described as a pet [friendly] hotel with many accomodations for our four legged friends. "We stayed here for one night and had a wonderful experience! The room was spacious with a fantastic sea view, making it a perfect place to relax. In the evening, we enjoyed playing table tennis, which added to the fun of our stay. The onsen with a sea view was incredibly relaxing—definitely a highlight! We recommend booking a stay that includes dinner and breakfast, as dining options nearby are quite limited, though there is a convenience store within a 5-minute walk."
