Waking up at the Golden Kettle Cottage is a special experience. Once you finally force yourself to leave your cozy bed, you make your way to the kitchen. One must have coffee. You are pleasantly surprised to find a full size 12 cup duo coffee maker that will also provide that single serving cup if you prefer (coffee and tea are provided).
Next you wrap one of our luxurious throws around your shoulders, cradle your steaming cup of coffee in your hands and step out onto the spacious deck to greet the morning. Peaceful … quiet...tranquil. You breathe in the scent of the woods and watch the sunlight dancing across the lake. You can’t help but smile as two white pelicans float by. (NOTE: Spring and Summer still offer views of the water, but the lush green trees block some of the amazing views enjoyed during Fall and Winter). You find yourself surrounded by nearly two acres of forest. If you’re very quiet you may be joined by two or three deer…not to mention colorful blue jays and cardinals, and our resident chipmunk, Theodore. In the evening, enjoy time around the firepit or cozied up to the chiminea making smores and roasting marshmallows!
Planning a little fun on the water? There is plenty of room to park your boat in our circle driveway. You will find a natural boat ramp less than half a mile from the cottage. There are two or three spots where you can put your boat in and leave your vehicle; however, please note that the water may be shallow and there is not a dock. There are a number of public boat ramps off US 59 near Grove/Honey Creek (a 15 minute drive from the cottage) if needed. At the point, you will also find a secluded ‘beach’ area perfect for swimming and kayaking. We even provide two kayaks (please bring your own life jackets). All you have to do is get them ½ mile down the road to the water. Once you are sufficiently sundrenched and waterlogged you can make your way back to the cottage and simply relax. Visiting during cooler seasons? You will still want to visit the point for amazing sunsets in the evening!
Golden Kettle Cottage comfortably accommodates six to eight guests. It features a spacious open-plan living area with a lake view and plenty of comfortable seating. Snuggle up on the couch or one of the two recliners nestled around a cozy electric fireplace and watch your favorite shows on the 55” television. The fully equipped kitchen offers a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, and microwave. You will even find an air fryer, food processer, blender, toaster, waffle maker, and, of course, that wonderful duo coffee maker you met early this morning. The table, perfect for dining or game night, comfortably seats six. Plush stools at the sofa table provide additional seating for three. There are two large bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master offers a plush and luxurious queen bed, a queen sleeper-sofa, and a Pack-N-Play for the tiny humans. You will find a second television here as well. The second bedroom, the Meadow Room, offers a queen daybed with queen trundle. This room is also home to a very cool hanging egg chair (a favorite reading spot)! Finally, if you are one of those people who feel compelled to work while you play, we provide a designated workspace with a printer, keyboard, and lovely view of the lake. The cottage offers Wi-Fi and the televisions are set up for streaming. Cable is not available. A washer and dryer are also provided for your convenience.
Should you feel the need to venture away from this little piece of paradise, you are only 15 miles from Grove or Jay and just 20 miles from Disney (the town, not the mouse). Grove offers shopping and a variety of great restaurants! You may also want to explore the Zena Suri Alpaca Ranch or SBH Stable for a little adventure in our very own Zena community. We have created a one-stop resource to help guide you through our community: https://linktr.ee/goldenkettlecottage!
During your stay, we welcome up to two dogs. Please remember to disclose your pets at the time of booking; a non-refundable pet fee of $75 per dog applies. For their safety and the property's well-being, kindly crate your pets when unattended. Please note that we love and respect our neighbors and their privacy and ask that you do as well. We all treasure the peace and serenity surrounding the Golden Kettle Cottage and Lindley Point and ask that our guests remain courteous and aware of noise levels. We cannot allow any parties or smoking of any kind at the cottage. As a reminder, water access is at the end of the road at the point. The residence across the street is private property and we ask that you do not trespass on their property or use their dock. These rules are strictly enforced. Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. Please respect these times to allow our cleaning crew time to prepare for our new guests. We do ask that guests take out all trash and wash any dirty dishes prior to check-out. And please be sure to take your children home with you…we already have several of our own.
