Rustic Farmhouse w/9 Beds, mins to MSU on working Farm! Pmts Avail. Mason MI

Mid 1800's Farmhouse in the middle of a working farm, a feeling of being in the middle of the country, yet a mile from the expressway and restaurants. Listed price only goes up if you have more than 9 guests and is Lower for those staying more than a week. If you are booking ahead, we have added a feature of payments. Freshly updated from bedding to appliances, including a Sleep Number bed and new mattresses and toppers. Unbelievable original hardwood floors and spectacular wainscoting. Minutes from Expressway, MSU, Dart and Jackson Nat'l. Stunning views. Perfect for a large family, or a couple families or friends coming in for a game. We host a lot of groups coming in for graduation or family get together. Or are you an executive traveler wanting a quiet get away in lieu of a hotel.
Putting together a meeting and wanting a unique meeting location, this could be your spot!

There is what I call a "Petticoat Junction" type of train that comes thru about 3-4 times a day during the week, but not usually on the weekend. The kind you remember wanting to count it's cars, that goes slow enough to wave to the conductor or if you as of late, I watch my new foal dance in circles as it goes by.

When the animals are here, if you would like to collect the eggs and see the animals that can be arranged as long the farm rules are adhered to. Temporarily there are no animals on the property.

This is a non-smoking environment so when you can really breathe the fresh air. Throughout most of the year a beautiful little creek runs through the property.... some days, our waterfront property looks more like a lake than a creek.

We welcome Cowboys and Cowgirls coming in for a show at the MSU Pavilion or Ingham County Fairgrounds (both within 4-6 miles). Just leave your boots on the porch, if you know what I mean!
It is a very quiet area, so it is fine to enjoy conversations around the fire pit, and enjoy the stars at night, but you do need to keep the noise level down. Any larger group get togethers other than registered guests need to be approved first. (please make sure you ask about the fire pit rules in advance, if you think you might want to enjoy the fire-pit, county has a steep fine if you don't abide by them).

I used to spend a lot of time on the road, so I wanted to create a space that truly was relaxing for the business traveler also. You will find although the house has the rustic charm and beautiful original floors... we put a great shower in, nice linens and different types of mattresses and toppers including a sleep number in the Master and updated or new appliances in the kitchen and a washer and dryer by the shower.

Family Get together
We traveled to Michigan from out of state for a family wedding. With 9 in our group ranging in age from 2 - 80 this was a wonderful place to stay! The little ones were able to be themselves while others were able to relax. You can take a walk since it is located in the country. We were able to have extended family over for coffee and donuts and visit in the large dining area. We stayed for 4 days and it became affectionately referred to as 'Grandma's Farm'!

Very convenient spot for our event
We didn’t spent a lot of time at the house but our only kinda issues were 13 people playing a sport & all needing to shower at the end of the day with only 1 shower & it took a while to get the house warmed up when we got there. It was a very charming old farmhouse though & was comfortable once it was warmed up. Patti was great about being available if we needed anything

Relaxing and peaceful
We so enjoyed our stay. It was a quick trip to celebrate our sons birthday and attend an MSU football game. The location was great and Patti was a fabulous host from the time we made our reservation, until we left. Any question or request was answered within minutes. The old farm house was peaceful and we were able to all play games and sit around a campfire at night. I was just an ideal setting that allowed us to be together as a family.

We came to Mason for the purpose of going to tailgate for MSU Homecoming with a big group and while this house was large enough to accommodate our group, it was much further from campus than described. Patti was a lovely host and super friendly and responsive.

Up Close and Personal with Horses!
We greatly enjoyed waking up on our first morning and looking out to see a family of beautiful horses! The entire time we were there we had free, unlimited access to interact with the horses and feed them carrots. There were also chickens that Patti would let out each morning that freely roamed the property, and we were able to feed them as well. Patti was a very friendly and accommodating host. She had freshly baked apple muffins that were there upon our arrival and they were delicious. She also received and put away a grocery delivery order for me prior to my arrival. Each morning and evening we would see Patti when she came to feed the horses and gather eggs. The kids and I were able to go around with her and help feed the horses hay and gather eggs. We enjoyed many pleasant conversations with Patti and the whole family enjoyed her company. The property is absolutely beautiful and we plan to return in the future.

A wonderful farmhouse experience with 18 beautiful horses that love carrots and apples, as well as chickens that will eat almost anything. Patti was a delightful host and gracious enough to introduce us to her string and flock. Expect a quiet and peaceful experience with 85 acres of Michigan's photographic landscape at your doorstep.

What a great property! To start, Patty was extremely helpful in getting us settled, even being there to accept our grocery delivery prior to our arrival. The property is just gorgeous with beautiful views and horses to feed apples and carrots to. The house itself was perfect for our crew of two adults and three kids. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit family in Mason.
