We have a beautiful, smoke free home with one acre on a serene, private, all-sports lake surrounded by woods creating a private haven from life's busy worries. You will have a comfortable studio apartment with private entrance, and small kitchen and bathroom. Come stay for a while and enjoy a fantastic view, fun & relaxation. We are approximately 10-30 minutes away from Frankenmuth, Birch Run, Flint, General Motors, Dog Agility Trials, 3 Hospitals, etc.
You will have a newly remodeled, complete studio apartment that can comfortably sleep 2 on the queen bed. There is a fireplace for warmth and ambiance. The kitchen is pretty well equipped with brand new appliances - full fridge, coffee maker, dishwasher, instapot, blender, mini oven, and microwave. You will have everything you need - dishes, cookware, and utensils, etc to make your meals, so that you are here for the sunsets.
You can enjoy the great outdoors during all seasons. It’s a beautiful, peaceful location during the summer with all the fun of lake play. In the fall, we have colorful foliage and brisk, fresh air as you gaze upon or play on the lake. Spring is a great time to watch life restart and get out there for some paddling around in kayaks. And last, but not least, is the winter wonderland to build snowmen, forts, snow angels plus a frozen lake for ice fishing. We also have a nice hill for sledding for the little ones. Then come back in for hot coco by the fire. We also have a fire pit area for bonfires all year round. So bring your hot dogs, marshmallows and sticks, and enjoy dinner and dessert by the lake. We have wood for sale for your convenience.
We have a natural shoreline along the edge of a living lake. We have added a dock with a kayak/canoe launch. So now you can more easily play in and on the lake. There is room to tie up your boats as well. You can sit and enjoy the breeze off the lake, do some fishing, swimming, relaxing while watching the sunset, etc.
You will have your own private entrance around the back of the house. So after you park in space 4, follow the stairs or walkway to the second door where you will find a digital lock. I will send you the lock code the day before your arrival. There is room for 1 vehicle. Others may park in the gravel overflow parking along the road North of the driveway.
We have a nice dock with a kayak launcher. You can rent our 3 kayaks, 1 pedal boat, and/or 4 inflatable tubes for fun on the lake, or bring your own lake toys and vehicles.
We welcome longer stays. If you are looking to stay quite a while, we offer a nice discount and would love to have ya.
Your area of our house is separate from the upstairs. So you can stay private or visit with us. We are a friendly family of three and welcome you to join us while you are here. Our goal is to make your visit as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as possible. We also respect your time and privacy.
We live in a quiet lake community. Even though its an all sports lake, it is a private lake, and so its usually very quiet and peaceful. The most activity I've seen on the lake at a time is 2 boats and 2 jet skis. :) Most of the time its just quiet with an occasional pontoon boat going by.
You can go for a nice walk along the quiet roads and catch glimpses of the lake between the homes. The foliage can be beautiful as well. And be sure to catch the sunsets over the lake. It all combines to create some great memories of your stay here.
We are located just off a main road, so getting to stores, etc is quite easy. We are close (3 miles or so) to local shopping and parks. If you want to venture a little further, almost anything you can want is available in Flint, including General Motors (15 miles). We are close to dog events in Lapeer (7 miles), and, Frankenmuth/Bronners/Birch Run (33 miles) . There are 3 hospitals (for students and residents) 10-30 minutes from our home. The highway is only 2 turns away from our home. We are about 20 miles from Bishop Airport and can provide transportation if you need.
Important information & House Rules:
**Smoke Free/Fresh Air**
Our home is a smoke free environment. There is to be no smoking or vaping in or near the home. Please do not burn incense or use any other strong, lingering scent in the home. If you want to smoke, please go to the designated smoking area/sitting area, near the parking spaces. Place all butts in the butt bucket provided and all trash in the trash cans. IMPORTANT: Give yourself a few extra moments to air out afterwards before entering the house. The smell really gets into the fabrics and upholstery. No cooking of seafood or fish in the house. You may use the grill outside.
$250 extra cleaning fee for violations.
**Quiet Time**
There are others living here as well. So out of respect for all, we ask that noise be kept down at all times and quiet time be observed between 10PM and 8AM.
**Air Conditioning**
A/C is owner controlled. We have central air, so that means just one setting for the whole house. As there are others in the home, the temp is set to suit most people (~75-77⁰F). So, there will be no adjustments for individual preference. It’s naturally cooler and nice in the apartment, plus we have a fan for extra circulation if desired. We run the A/C usually just on really hot, muggy days. The rest of the time, we enjoy the fresh air. To keep it cooler in the apartment, I suggest you close the windows and curtains on days when it will be hot, especially during the late afternoon when the sun is shining into the windows. Then open it back up later in the evening for fresh, cooler air.
**Heat**
The main living room fire is controlled with the thermostat on the wall nearby. Don’t adjust any knobs, etc. on the fireplace itself.
**Pets**
• You are responsible for your pets at all times. They are not to be left here unattended (alone) at any time without prior authorization. In other words, they go with you when you leave the property, play on the lake, etc.
• You are required to use protective furniture covers on living room furniture. Some are provided in the living room closet.
• There is a high probability of other dogs being on property. So please use common sense in restraining your dogs. Leashes are strongly recommended. Not all dogs get along with other dogs. Not all owners want other dogs near theirs. Better safe than sorry.
• If you let your pets swim in the lake, please bathe them with the hose & shampoo and dry them VERY well prior to going inside.
• Clean up any messes. Cleaner and tools are provided. They are located in kitchen and closet.
• Dog Poo – You are expected to pick up after your dog outside. No one wants to step in poo.
**TV**
There is a TV in the living room. The remote is on the shelf in front of it. We don’t have cable. Just our movie collection and apps. Some apps are free, others can be used when you log in with your account info. Don’t forget to log out before you leave. See channels pages here in the guide for more information.
**Laundry**
There is no laundry on site. However, there are 3 laundromats nearby. You are welcome to use the laundry hamper to transport laundry
**Paper Products**
We provide a starter supply of paper products. If you need more, you will need to go buy them.
**Lake Fun**
• All lake fun is at your own risk, there is no life guard on duty. We are not responsible for injury or lost/damaged property. I never thought I would need to say this, but Watch Your Kids! We want everyone safe and happy.
• Dock: Guests are welcome to use the dock. The water is about 5 feet deep off the far edge of the dock, and it gets deeper from there.
• Boats: Guests are welcome to moor boats alongside the dock.
• Fishing: You are technically required to have a fishing license. We haven’t had a problem so far, but I’m just letting you know that DNR does come out on the lake sometimes, and could request to see your license.
• Kayaks: We have 3 blue kayaks available for rental. They are $25/Kayak/Day. If you are interested in renting these, please contact Lisa.
• Paddle Boat: We have a 4-seat paddle boat available for rent. It is $25/Day.
• Tubes: We have 4 inflatable tubes available for rent to float around on the lake. There are no oars. They are $10/Tube/Day. If you are interested in renting these, please contact Lisa.
• Life Vests: We also have life vests available, included in rental fees.
• All rentals are first come, first serve. We will likely have other guests in other areas of the house.
Firewood: For your convenience, we have firewood available for sale. It is $10/bundle. Please contact Lisa.
**Grill**
Our outdoor grill is attached to the fire ring in the fire pit. You are welcome to cook your food directly on it or line it with tinfoil. We have wood available for sale. Enjoy the fun experience and flavor of food cooked over the open fire!

• Check out is 11 am. Late checkout will result in an extra day fee unless preapproved.
• Please place all used towels & washcloths in the laundry basket.
• Please strip the used beds and place all used sheets and pillow cases in the laundry basket on top of the towels. Leave used blankets and quilts on the bed. The basket gets too heavy with all of it in there at once. : )
