We most loved the deck on the front of the cabin. Many hours were spent just sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. The lake is quite private and peaceful. The cabin is super cool and definitely a labor of love for the family that built it. It's nice that they are willing to share it with us. The listing agents, Jaqua Realtors, seem set on being a premiere rental agency. Some aspects of the listing were not exactly accurate but I think they are working to improve them. Be aware that the owner has signs prohibiting fishing even though that is not mentioned in the listing and fishing seems like a main attraction for a property like this. We experienced strong disappointment upon arrival because we had looked forward to it for quite some time. It was not a great way to start vacation. Another important note is that there are only 4 bedrooms not 5. 5 of the 16 beds are in the main living space. Firewood was recently delivered and should be seasoned by the time future guests arrive. There is not a gravel parking area, only the loop. Be prepared to walk down the grass a little ways to get everything to and from the door. A landscaped walkway connected to a deck that extends to the corner of the house would be nice. Only a canoe and a pedal boat are provided. The listing title used to mention kayaks but those were not provided. The water entry is very mucky and weedy, but there is a dock that extends into the lilly pads a ways. Be sure to bring all of your drinking water.

New year celebration
No decorations for new year(you can spend $50 to decorate) No tables to accommodate all the persons together for celebration. There are not 5 bedrooms- one master ,one open space loft in the 2-nd floor, one good size bedroom in 1-st floor and basement with one little bedroom and “bunk beds room “ very very tiny.Everything else 4+(out of 5).

Perfect Escape from Chicago!
My friends and I had a great stay at the cabin. We all enjoyed a campfire, the beautiful scenery and views, and went on the canoe provided on the property on the private lake. The location is great. We were able to spend a day in South Haven as well as go tubing in nearby Paw Paw. Perfect weekend friend trip.

Walsh Cabin
The cabin owners enlisted a property manager which is a local real estate agency. This is some of what I shared with them. I have taken a week to give this some thought and think about my words. I do not enjoy unpleasant conversations. Our stay at the cabin started off with a series of unfortunate events. We had to remove fallen branches in order to access the cabin. Evidently there was a storm the previous night. There was a damaged chair that had blown off the deck. Next, the access code did not work. The cell service was really bad at the cabin but after a few attempts to make a connection we found a spot on the property that worked. We called the number provided to get a new code. It was a help center and the woman on the phone was not helpful. I went back in my email correspondence and found a different number to use. I finally connected with someone from the office who was able to share the correct code. Everyone I talked to who actually worked at your office was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the property description and images posted on VRBO did not match the actual property. The WiFi isn’t very strong which was disappointing. The most frustrating and disappointing aspect was the water system- well, septic, and tankless hot water. The hot water ran out every time we showered. We could only use one shower at a time. We even tried army style showering. We had to purchase water to drink and cook with. Over priced for the amenities.
