We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the downtown and old town area by public transport; and because it has an underground parking. The hotel is a bit dated but nice.

Good choice near Part Dieu train station
Just a two night stay to visit friends in Lyon. Easy to get to on the Tram out of Part Dieu train station. Area was good since there was a McDonalds and a grocery store to buy wine. Front desk people were pleasant. There was an on premise restaurant/bar but not open for lunch or dinner.

It was good overall but definitely not 4 star level. The room itself was new and modern but the hotel was narrow and the only restaurant was undergoing innovation so that didn’t help give the hotel a better image. Staff were nice and friendly.

Liked: Very close to a bus stop and also to a metro. Small shops in the vicinity (open until quite late at night) are very convenient. Staff were very friendly and accommodating Could be improved: Iron and ironing board not standard in the rooms (One can ask for it, but then it later gets taken to other rooms, and one has to re-ask). For a four-star hotel, I would have expected this to be standard. Staff member directed me to the wrong bus stop. Perhaps it was just a misunderstanding, but he did see it on my map, and did say the correct bus, but sent me to the wrong bus stop.

Très bon séjour, mais le parking compliqué !
Bon séjour dans l'ensemble, parking un peu difficile à trouver et peu visible car il faut passer par des voies de tram réservées aux riverain, puis l'entrée est sur la gauche donc pas intuitif. Le parking en lui-même est un dédale assez glauque. Mais à part ça, l'hôtel en lui-même est très bien. Bien placé, calme, ascenseur sécurisant (impossible de l'emprunter sans carte de chambre). Personnel serviable.

Nous avons été enchantés, mon épouse et moi-même, par ce séjour à l'Hôtel Mercure de Villeurbanne : personnel sympathique, hôtel propre, possibilité de garer le véhicule dans le parking souterrain, accès métro et tramway a quelques mètres de l'hôtel, possibilité de restauration. On a passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel. Le service de réception était exceptionnel, vraiment au top ! Monsieur Guillaume, le réceptionniste, a été particulièrement aimable et professionnel.
