Beautiful house for a very reasonable price!

The property is beautiful and well-maintained. Rooms are large and clean with large lanais. Lots of activities on offer and best for families. They seemed a little short-staffed over the holidays so service was a bit challenged at times. Having said that, staff were very friendly, especially Karen on the front desk, Nikko on the walking tour and Boyse at the omelette station. Only negative is limited dining options at he resort and nearby.

Great property that is far superior to a hotel. Having a full kitchen and laundry, multiple bathrooms and bedrooms for the same or less expense as a hotel makes Paniolo Greens my favorite choice on Big Island.

My wife and I decided to stay at Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo after seeing so many positive recommendations on social media, and we were excited to try it out. The atmosphere is really nice, and it’s super close to the ocean, which makes for some beautiful views. The location is great and the hotel itself has a nice vibe. However, there were a couple of downsides. First, they only offer valet parking, which wasn’t super convenient for us. I’m not exactly looking for valet service, especially when we’re just renting a car, and I much prefer free parking on-site. Plus, the valet parking was pretty pricey. The bigger issue for us was that both my wife and I broke out in hives during our stay. The room felt very humid and damp, and we weren’t really comfortable with the high moisture in the air. Our allergies got much better the day we checked out, so while I’m not blaming the hotel entirely (there are many possible allergy triggers), I do think the humidity might’ve been a factor. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with a lot to offer, but the parking situation and humidity were not ideal for us.
