"The rooms are a little shabby, although they are refurbishing- hence no lift at present. The staff were very helpful, rooms clean and had everything we needed. Good location at the top of the steps by the whalebones, parking is a headache as on street parking is expensive from March to end October, hotel car park was full. "

"We enjoyed our stay at Raven Hall immensely. The hotel in Ravenscar has an absolutely amazing position overlooking the bay, cliffs and beyond. We had a lovely warm room with sea view which was very comfortable and roomy. All staff very friendly and helpful, plus the buffet breakfast is brilliant. We have been a few times now and will definitely return."

"We had a spacious room perfect for our teenage children. We had one meal which was tasty and served quickly. Rather expensive restaurant. Our second night was blighted by another guests abusive behaviour towards his partner. Maybe staff should say no to customers when they have clearly had too much alcohol. "

"Initially booked into room 7 ( annex) . Hadn't fully appreciated the access issues / stairs / downstairs toilet/ wardrobe. Staff were brilliant and moved to room 15 inside hotel immediately. Friendly staff , great food and only 1.5 miles from Whitby . ( Although Park and Ride does not start until Spring) . Would certainly book again ."

"This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time. Absolutely beautiful building, extremely skilfully converted to a hotel. The welcome from the front desk person on our arrival at 10.30pm was wonderful. She seemed genuinely pleased to have us at the hotel. "First off the owners when contacted were lovely. The place itself could be beautiful but does look slightly run down. The room the granary was gorgeous inside with no issues. "The photos do not do the property justice! Warm, welcoming, spotless a lovely cottage. The location was amazing with sea views from the top bedroom and a short walk into town and the beach.
