Unwind while surrounded by nature in a newly renovated 2 - bedroom house on George Lake. You will be set up to enjoy the perfect getaway, whether you’re hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, shopping, or staying cool indoors. Remote, but only half a mile from US 41, this house is uniquely situated for day trips across the UP. The lightly-trafficked road leading to the house has the lake on one side and cottages on the other. Even in the peak of summer, this is an uncrowded, quiet neighborhood. It feels like a world away, but you’re only half a mile to US 41, the main artery in this part of the UP. There is a convenience store 5 miles down the road, and most big box stores are a fast and scenic 40-minute drive away in Marquette. L’Anse is just 30 minutes in the other direction. The neighborhood is close to attractions like Canyon Falls and the entrance to Craig Lake State Park, the most remote state park in Michigan.
Guests will have access to a section of private lakefront, a private cleared back yard, and the entire home. There is a small, local road between the house and the lake. There are normally about 5 - 10 cars per day that will pass by. Guests will have access to a private working space, two-person kayak, fire pit, charcoal grill, and small swimming dock. Guests may also use the single-car garage.
We provide a visitor guidebook with tips to enjoy the UP seven days before arrival. There is also a physical copy at the house.
