"This was my first time staying downtown and I think El Cortez was perfect. Easy walk to Fremont and the Container Park. Bars and restaurants at the hotel were excellent, the room was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. All future trips I will stay here. It was the best. So much better than the strip. "

"I didn’t like the fact that the room I reserved was not available and I was sent to a less appealing room that I wasn’t too fond of after being told the accommodations were better. Then I was offered a room with a roll in shower to which I declined. So, I ended up paying for an upgrade for 25 extra dollars a night plus, I was charged two different room taxes each night for the original room plus the upgraded room and the bathroom was dirty. Had to call housekeeping 3Xs. Disappointing. "
