"Very easy to find after getting off the shinkansen at Kyoto station. Checking in and out was done via a machine kiosk (for some reason it couldn't read any of my credit cards, but I could pay by cash)"

"Hotel spa and lotus was a beautiful stay and location. We didn't realise at the time of booking that it was a "love hotel" but that didn't make it any less special, it is very respectful, clean and relaxing. There was plenty of toiletries, shamppoo, conditioner, body wash, facial wash, moisturiser, toothbrushes, hairbrush hair clips, razors, cotton pads and cotton buds. There is a beautiful spa bath with bubble bath and salts. There is a big tv where you can login to your own Netflix or Youtube and in our room there was also a massage chair, perfect after a lot of walking every day. We havd a complimentary breakfast and beverage every day with a choice of japanese or western breakfast There was great room service menu with one complimentary drink a day and a fully stocked, reasonably priced mini bar. The staff were very friendly and acoomodating. You give your key before leaving every day so they can clean the room. There is a lovely rooftop bath that you can book for personal use, you can use a pool table, darts and karaoke. there are complimentary sweets and bath salts and kimonos you can wear in reception. there is a train station about 10 minutes walk from the hotel with links to Kyoto where you can get trains to everywhere and is a bustling town with lots to see and do. We got taxis occasionally with the GO app which arrives within 5 minutes of booking for rainy days and when we couldnt get our head around the transport links "

"This ryokan style property served as a sanctuary for a night. The futons were comfortable. We slept very well to the sound of the rushing river and chirping crickets. It is walking distance to shops and restaurants. We will come back again in the near future."

"This was our favourite hotel of our trip. The outside is fairly grand, although it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There is a couple of convenience stores within a ten-minute walk, but not really any restaurants we could see. There are other grand hotels in the vicinity. The reception was equipped with some comfortable seats and booths, as well as the “menu” of rooms, where you see photos and categories of the rooms available. Outside the door, was a large parking structure. The receptionist, while not unfriendly, was visibly frustrated having to deal with English guests and was rather snappy at first. The Room was huge. The bathroom was large and comfortable, with a huge array of products and hair/grooming tools available to use. Hair dryer, curler, straightener, you name it. We tried the jet bubble bath and it was pretty relaxing and nice. Plus, the bath is large enough for two humans to relax together. In the centre of the room, a fabulous massage chair was free to use and I enjoyed. All in all, I would not say the food was that great. It was a pity. A furthermore, it wasn’t as advertised. For the price, I’d say it was okay and certainly for the convenience. The facilities and the furnishings of the room, the size of the guest space and the food brought to you, when compared against other non-love hotels, come out absolutely on top. Love hotels are the way to go."
