Hotel Helvetia has a sparse, industrial chic about it. It's only steps from the main train station and S-Bahn, and an easy walk to many museums, shopping, and restaurants. Marien Platz is very close. Their staff are pleasant and efficint. The breakfast is excellent. There is major construction next door; but on the weekend when we were there, it was silent. We highly recommend the hotel.

The property is clean, located near public transpotation, restaurants, shopping and tourism. You cannot check in early but they will store your luggage. They also have an elevator. There is construction next door so the noise wakes you up in the morning. We were there 3 nights. The internet is free but unsecured so make sure you have a hotspot. The breakfast is extra ans worth every euro.

The room was shockingly small for a superior double , when we xhalle ged we were told., theres nothing we can do were fully booked. The room was nothing like the pictures.

There is nothing NOT to like about the Helvetia; it is my 4 th time staying here and my go-to choice whether I travel solo or not. Safe feeling, excellent location and a delicious smorgasbord is available on site; personelle are friendly & helpful. One gets a sound and quiet sleep at the Helvetia.

Other than the fact that the kids bathroom shower smelt like taw sewage it was so bad I gagged. They had to shower in our room other than that we got a free breakfast out of it and the place is decent.

The location was great, close to Central Station as we were travelling by train. Unfortunate that there was construction happening next door and this made that hotel a bit awkward to get to and a bit on rain on one of the days mad it quite muddy. The staff were very helpful

Was fine for what i needed, i had read some average reviews around doors not locking and air conditioning not working well. The door lock was interesting but did manage to get it to lock and the air conditioning worked perfectly

Absolutely mean and nasty woman working the desk when we arrived who didn't hide her displeasure, for whatever reason. No reason for her behavior. Hotel room was small (cramped) with only one thick duvet on the bed as cover in the summertime. Shower was very small and uncomfortable with no bar soap.

When we arrived the woman greeting us was not very friendly. We picked this hotel as it said it was family friendly and had laundry facilities which we needed. It does not though it still advertises laundry. Our rooms air conditioning did not work well and the shower leaked terribly. We would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for the things that we did not have success with.

Great staff!
Staff super helpful. They made some changes to accommodate my dietary needs for breakfast which was appreciated. Also nice clean rooms with modern decor. Really convenient location for Central Station.

For the first time in close to twenty years we feel we were mis-lead by Hotels.com. The price was exorbitant (over $400 per night), and the hotel was not nice. The air conditioning did not work in the room and it was hot in Munich while we were there. If we opened the windows, we were pilloried with construction noise right across the street. The room was dingy, no modern amenities. The bathroom was tiny and very poorly laid out. I've never felt I had to leave a bad review of a hotels.com property until now. The people at the front desk were nice and friendly but the hotel is below our standards and I have a hard time getting past that. It was, by far the most expensive part of our trip to Europe, and it just was not worth the price paid.

We arrived early so left our bags as the room wasn't ready. We said clearly we would return late but when we did (slightly before 11pm), the lady at the reception was super rude, simply because she had to open the door for us. Difficult. She got very angry because we hadn't taken a card etc etc. All kinds of things we should have done... But were not told. How were we supposed to know? Nonsense. It ended in a shouting match. She is not made for the job. Location super convenient so they will always have guests, without having to make an effort, unfortunately. Won't stay again...

This hotel is only good if you want to be near to the train station. Otherwise, it's very noisy with all the construction works, people making noises and it seems a bit unsafe and dirty outside the hotel with some dodgy people hanging around near that section.
