Checked in, was there less than 30 minutes. Some of us were there only 10 minutes. We all had headaches from the smoke smell. It was not fresh smoke, it was a home that was smoked in for decades. The home also had a mold/mildew and musty smell. We tried opening windows and turning on the ceiling fan but the fan was not secured well to the ceiling and was shaking a lot. The windows on the back doors had a thick film on them and the carpet leading into one of the bedrooms was torn up exposing a tack strip.This is as far into the house that we looked. I didn't take any photos because we were all struggling being in the house with the smell.
I tried contacting the host who was less than friendly. She even sent me a message the following morning complaining about me that was meant for her cleaner. The message ended with "not sure what her problem is but i dont care". I think that sums up my experience with the host, she doesn't care.
It was Memorial week. I know that is a busy time with a high rental value. I did not expect to be able to get a full refund. I didnt even ask for one. But as a novice host, her inexperience showed. She could have easily re-listed the porperty and only refunded what she recouped, or at the very least, she could have refunded the cleaning fee & dog fee since qe didnt even stay there!!
The location was good, the check in was okay, but the home is NOT non-smoking (if that is important to you) & the host is less than accomodating to say the least.
