Fine place to stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara-on-the-Lake town and region exceeded our expectations as an attractive and interesting area to visit. The cottage was a great place to stay and was easy walking distance to the town and the lake. A day visit to Niagara Falls was only a short drive away. We also used it as a base to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Martin house and Graycliff house and other sights in Buffalo.
Overall the cottage is small, but it met our needs. The lounge was good to relax in and bed was comfortable. It's well-equipped with good internet and a TV with streaming options and a kitchen that was fine for food preparation.
In the town, Hendrik's supermarket had a good range of provisions and Balzac's Coffee was very good. While a couple of glasses of local wine at Cork's Wine Bar were underwhelming, however we had a great tasting (and purchases) at Reif Estate Winery.
We would recommend Hawsepiper Cottage as a ideal accommodation in Niagara-on-the-Lake and a base for wider exploration.
