Cozy log cabin in the heart of the Green Mountains

Enjoy your next getaway at this cozy and well appointed private family log cabin any season of the year! Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains, the Cabin is centrally located just minutes from biking, hiking trail heads for the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail and skiing with Killington (17 miles), Pico (12 miles) and Okemo (18 miles) just short drives away.

In the warmer weather, spend your days enjoying the swimming pool, outdoor gas grill, fire pit, covered front porch with picnic table and back porch for relaxing, listening to nature, and watching the sunset. A mowed walking trail around the meadow allows you to enjoy all that the Vermont warmer weather seasons have to offer without leaving the property!

There are other extensive outdoor activities in the area, as well as antiquing, outlet shopping and countless other things to do in all seasons. Please don't hesitate to ask for recommendations.

The main level of the Cabin includes hardwood floors, a well appointed new kitchen with some basic pantry items and an updated full bathroom with shampoo and soap. The open living and dining area is highlighted by a cathedral ceiling and a large stone fireplace. There are numerous books, games and puzzles for your entertainment, as well as strong WiFi for streaming any entertainment on your own devices. There is no television.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed - one bedroom is on the first floor and the other is directly above on the second floor. Sound carries easily through the rustic floor/ceiling that separates the bedrooms. So, the Cabin is best suited for one couple, a family, or friends who know each other well. Linens are provided and there is a washer and dryer.

The Cabin is one of two properties situated on a 20 acre meadow that has been in our family for three generations; owners are often at the second property. It is conveniently located a few miles from a large grocery store, restaurants and all the amenities of the Rutland area. Yet, it offers the feeling of being in the country. This treasured place is a family home -- we are sure you will enjoy it as much as our family has for more than 50 years.

Book your getaway at the Cabin now!

Disclaimer: For security of the property, two surveillance cameras are installed outdoors, one on the front porch facing the driveway and the other off the deck facing the back of the house.

long weekend
This property exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a tranquil location to reset from everyday life and this location did just that. The location itself was perfect as you felt separated from the world but a 3 min drive away is grocery stores, shopping, dining, ect. I highly recommend staying here as I know I will return.

Great location. Cabin was clean and just as described. The perfect place to relax, the pool was a great way to cool off on a hot day. The host gave lots of great information for the area and was very quick to respond to my messages. Would stay again any time!

Vermont Cabin Stay
We had a very pleasant stay at the cabin. It's was important to me to have a warm and comfortable place to lay our heads after snowboarding all day. It's a stones throw from Rutland so getting groceries and checking out some of the local restaurants was quick and easy. Pico and Killington are less than 30 min away. Friends in Rochester about 45 min and friends in Warren 60 min. We had a great time and will be back for sure. Kristina is also very responsive to messages if anything was needed.

We had a wonderful stay at The Cabin! The house is wonderfully appointed, in a great location, and has awesome amenities. You are less than five minutes away from most anything you need and just slightly more for some of the best skiing in the state. Being summer, the kids took full advantage of the beautiful pool which was perfect to cool down in. The acreage surrounding the property made for beautiful sunsets and walks around the perimeter. The coziness of the log cabin was felt even in the summer. It had everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We can’t wait to return to experience The Cabin in other seasons!

This property is an amazing find. Do not pass it up. The peaceful nature and views are amazing. Feels secluded yet three miles from town with everything you need. No TV no problem this is a place to unwind, unplug and charge those batteries from a hectic routine. The pool was great and the cabin was cozy. Loved every minute of our stay!!!

Adorable and Wonderful!
The cabin was perfect for a family of four with smaller kids. The kids shared the upper room. The cabin is small but well laid out and very comfortable. It's a great location for hiking, but a short distance to Rutland if you need more urban amenities. We had a great time!

Perfect weekend getaway
We had a very pleasant weekend at this cozy cabin. The proximity to Killington/Pico is good and it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of skiing. The cabin truly felt like a home and the fireplace was a nice touch. The host was communicative leading up to and during our stay. We hope to be back soon!

The Cabin
Me and my 3 kids 13/11/8 spent 3 days at the cabin and loved it. We all snowboard/ski and wanted to do both Killington and okemo. We really didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars on Christmas week so we chose to stay off mountain in between both mountains. The cabin was perfect. 32 min to Killington. 28 to okemo. If you want cozy Vermont this is it. Huge fireplace warms the entire cabin. Lots of outdoor space for kids to play. We will definitely be back! Mike

A Beautiful Authentic Log Cabin
Our family of 4 with 2 teen girls spent a holiday break at this cabin. it was a wonderful experience, everything was as described, the house is fully stocked with everything you may need, including non-perishables in the pantry. Okemo is only 25 minutes away, where we skid daily. the house is perfect for a family of 4, beds are comfy. the temps got low to 5 degrees outside , and since its a cabin it got chilly, so we burned fireplace non stop during the low temps -the wood is provided which was great. Rutland is 5 mins away, there's shopping, groceries, restaurants, we highly recommend Vermont Tap House (you have to try their dough bites - zeppoles) and for Christmas we went to Japanese Kitchen, which was great. We loved staying there and are already talking about next season. thank you for a great vacation.

More than just a cabin...
What a spot! First, thank you to the owner for sharing this special place with us. We booked a few nights at the last minute and the host was very responsive. Comfortable bed, nice linens and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. There are a lot of cool things about (and in) this cabin and the fireplace is at the top. We are already planning to return when there's snow!

Great Views, Great Vermont Property!
Had a great stay with our kids. Place is cozy with a lot of charm - but also nicely put together and had everything we needed. We did some walks on the trail around the meadow, which had great views and was a nice bonus. Kitchen and bathroom are newer - and everything was clean. Host was really helpful with some recommendations. We will be back.l!

Perfect getaway!
What a great spot! Looks just like the pictures - cozy and rustic but with the amenities of a modern bath and kitchen (that’s fully stocked) along with comfortable beds and nice linens. We had a wonderful few days and can’t wait to come back in the winter - including to put the beautiful fireplace to use. Highly recommend.
