"What a find - a hotel in a working convent that used to be a palace! Breakfast nice, dinner excellent. Good choice of wines and beer. Room spotlessly clean, nice size. Grounds beautifully kept. Lovely long walking trails in the woods behind the convent. Plenty of safe parking. Very tranquil, absolutely top class, and at a very fair price. This is the second time I have stayed there, and will do so again. "

"Hotel is located on a hill overlooking the valley - wonderful sunrise views. Property is well maintained and rooms/bathrooms well appointed. One issue for us - we may have been placed into an accessible room - the bathroom light was tied to the door of the bathroom opening - there was no way to control the light other than the door (I asked). If you use the bathroom at night, and do not want the light to come on - you had to pull your key out of the main switch at the wall which cut all power...

"We found this last minute on the way through Switzerland to Belgium, however found the hotel a little run down and tired. Sadly, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired ."

"There were renovations taking place during our atay which made finding the building difficult to find as the hotel sign was covered. Make sure you don't show up early for check-in as the doors are locked during certain parts of the day and only accessible with a key you receive when checking in. "This is a beautiful hotel! The restaurant in the hotel serves delicious food at reasonable prices. The area around the hotel is like a Hallmark Christmas town. The Christmas market was in the same town square and the atmosphere was very festive. A magical stay! "

"Logistically great! Accommodated very late arrival, all in English, coordinated via WatsApp without an issue, hotel in a nice location, local historical building. Definitely come here if you want the traditional Alsace experience. Easy parking in front of hotel. Room looked like new although the building is hundreds years old."

"We booked this small hotel without knowing the area. Philippsburg is not the most popular stopping place for tourists, but we liked it for it's authenticity and quiet. We walked around the village and the nearby lake and the surrounding forests were wonderful."
