"We enjoyed our stay at Shellington. It was our dogs first visit at the beach and they had a great time! The location was perfect, just steps from the beach.The house can use a few update, but was comfortable for October weather. "

There’s a very short walk to the beach access point too which was very convenient. "The house was comfortable and very close the beach access. Unfortunately there were things that needed attention. The entire doorframe was hanging loose on the side entrance of the house. The door would not close properly due to this. My husband kind of pounded it in the best he could. Nothing was going to be done on this until after we were leaving! The toilet ran constantly and it didn’t flush properly. A maintenance person came to replace a few parts. Our internet wasn’t working, therefore the televisions weren’t functioning. We had to call on that too. The ice maker wasn’t working but we figured out the water was disconnected! The outside shower was completely unusable.. the line was cut. There was no grill. I know that wasn’t included in the description but we found that kind of annoying! The blanket for a bed was obviously unwashed. There was a stain on it so we called and got another but all these things were an inconvenience! There were no pizza or other flat pans, no cleaning supplies left from others, no salt and pepper… nothing like that! I realize this is just stuff others bring and leave. I do that myself! It may have been the first rental of the season… I don’t know, so the owner didn’t know about the problems!We have been renting in Oak Island both spring and fall for many years and have never had so many issues in a property."
