"It's a nicely laid out, very clean place. Easy to get in and very central. Instructions for getting in and where to park were great. The odd thing is that, effectively, it's a sort of bunker. It's ground floor, but it has no windows to the outside; only light wells at both ends. It's not a problem if you're there in winter or are out most of the time, but not good for the claustrophobic! "Had a lovely say this week at Chez Mathilde. It was chosen for the peace and quiet and because of the lovely cosy feel of the property. It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The house has a great ground level, with a warm fireplace and space to spread out. The kitchen has everything you need. "We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely family home, there was plenty of space and lots of outdoor activities. We really liked the pool however it isn’t fenced which would have been good to know in advance. There is a local vineyard, restaurant and a supermarket nearby. We would definitely recommend this large house to other groups wanting a quiet getaway. The hosts were extremely helpful and offered to help with anything we needed."

"The gite was very well equipped and comfortable. Probably one of the best we have stayed in over many years. The surrounding countryside is variable, with flat plains , hills and lakes. If you are interested in Ww1 the preserved trenches in the area are the best I have seen. Verdun and Nancy, which are a short drive away, are both historical and picturesque."
