The space
Possum Lodge offers the tranquil retreat you've always envisioned. Nestled in the woods on a quiet dead-end street, with a recently renovated interior, you can experience the rustic charm you desire while enjoying the conveniences of modern living.
This two-bedroom cabin comes equipped with new appliances, a pull-out couch, a comfortable recliner, an outdoor fire pit, a gas grill, and private lake access.
Whether you prefer fishing, kayaking, or swimming in the lake, relaxing indoors with a good book, or toasting marshmallows by the campfire, this delightful year-round home is ideal for intimate group gatherings or a nearby staycation.
The master bedroom features a queen bed and a twin bed, along with a "pack and play" to accommodate family needs. The second bedroom includes a queen bed and a shared bathroom for the space. The living room offers a smart TV and strong Wi-Fi, perfect for those who dream of a "Work from Home" lifestyle, along with a pull-out couch.
During your stay, take advantage of the three complimentary single kayaks and one double kayak, as well as direct access to the lake. If you have little ones, a free local splash pad is just a short ten-minute drive away, and a high chair is also available. Upon check-in, we'll provide you with a guidebook detailing all the exciting local amenities in the area.
Guest Access:
Guests may arrive any time after 4 PM on the day of check-in. (Earlier check-in may be available for additional fee if not previously rented- please contact host for early check-in). We have a keyless door entry and will provide you a code to enter and exit the property on the day of check-in.
Inventory:
We pride ourselves on providing essential provisions, including a regular coffee pot, one roll of toilet paper per day, one roll of paper towel per stay, hand soap, dishwashing soap, one garbage bag per day, basic cooking utensils, and, notably, bottle/wine openers! The cabin is equipped with fundamental cooking supplies (such as salt and pepper) that you are welcome to utilize. In the event that you need additional supplies, Westfield’s Supervalu at 519 S. Main St. Westfield, WI, is conveniently located. Please bring your own towels for your stay. While we recommend bringing bug spray and cosmetics for your entire visit, if anything is inadvertently left behind, feel free to use any available items in the cabin.

We are thrilled to have you as our guests in the cabin! To ensure a pleasant stay, we kindly request that you treat our home with the same care and consideration as you would your own. Please take note of the following house rules:
Noise:
While our neighbors are wonderful, the close proximity of the surroundings necessitates respect. We kindly ask that you avoid loud noise between the hours of 10 PM and 8 AM.
Pet Policy:
We adore pets and welcome up to 2 small-medium breed dogs or 1 large dog. If you plan to bring your furry companions, kindly ensure they remain outside of the bedrooms. When outdoors, please keep your pets on leashes and clean up after them. It's important to refrain from entering the vacant lot next door and to prevent guests or pets from going beyond the fence. There is a $100 per pet fee for the entirety of your stay, and an unauthorized pet will incur a $250 fee. Failure to clean up after your dog will result in a $50 fee.
Guests/Visitors:
We appreciate having friends over but request that you refrain from accommodating any additional overnight visitors without prior approval. If your plans change, please contact us for authorization.
Special Events:
We kindly remind you that the use of fireworks is strictly prohibited during your stay. Additionally, we do not allow any type of events to take place on the property.
Non-Smoking:
Please be aware that our home is a non-smoking property, and the use of illicit drugs is not permitted at any time on our premises. This is a completely smoke-free property. Any evidence or lingering smell of smoking will result in an automatic $250 charge.
Appliances, Utilities, and Security:
Before checking out or when you are away, kindly turn off all lights, fans, and electronics. Ensure that all used dishes are washed and put away. When leaving, lock and close all doors and windows. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any loss of personal valuables or belongings.
Garbage & Recycling:
Please empty all garbage and recycling and put in in the secured garbage bins outside. If your garbage does not fit inside, please plan to take it with you to dispose of yourself. We will ensure adequate room in the bins, but garbage left inside our home will result in a $50 fee.
Damages:
We understand that accidents happen! We ask that you report any accidental damages prior to check-out in a timely manner. In case of damage to property that is not covered by insurances, guests will pay for the repair. Please be respectful of our space and keep furniture in the room you found it in.
Lake & Kayak use:
No lifeguard. Lake and paddle boat kayaks may be used at your own risk.
Winter:
Embracing winter at the cabin can be a bit challenging, but it's also our favorite time to be there! The snowy landscape brings unparalleled peace and beauty. We arrange for snow removal once the storm has passed, but please note that the short walk and driveway from the parking spot to the house may or may not be shoveled. Kindly wear suitable winter footwear and be prepared to shovel if booking during the winter months.
Compliance:
Failure to adhere to any of the rules outlined above constitutes a violation of the agreed-upon terms and conditions. We retain the right to evict any guests or visitors from the property who do not comply with the stated rules.
Cancellation Policy:
We strongly recommend that our guests secure travel insurance to provide coverage in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as illness, family emergencies, or other scheduling conflicts. Please be aware that we do not offer refunds or make exceptions to our cancellation policy.
