"There were gorgeous, steep, well maintained trails behind the property to the river below. Also a fabulous variety of birds. Everything else was hit and miss, including the Wi-Fi connection (or not). We had a meal that was among the best, and another that was among the worst during our 10-day stay in Costa Rica. Staff was not exactly friendly, not exactly hostile. The amenities we had were extraordinary considering how remote this property is, but the experience was overall uneven. "

"You can easily walk to some local trails and other hotel restaurants. This hotel was a gem! We loved our room, the walls are a little thin but we only shared with one neighbor. Beds were very comfy and had lots of pillows and wall plugs. Staff were pretty friendly, our only “poor” interaction was when we showed up at 8:30 am after a morning hike and were told the breakfast ends at 9 am and made a little fuss over us arriving at 8:30.
