One star is the lowest score I am able to give. The day I was to arrive I was told that I would be sharing one bathroom with “many guests” and that there was not much fridge space. The description for our 2 room reservation said some spaces were shared on the resort, and that the bathroom was shared with room 2, so that seemed to mean we only had 1 bathroom for our 2 rooms. The listing states that we would have full access to the kitchen and other areas, but not so. I said I would not have booked it had I known this; that I didn’t feel safe sharing so many essential spaces with COVID, and could I cancel and get a refund. I was told I could cancel, but would not receive any refund. We decided to check out the room. We noticed that Cameras were everywhere inside and outside of the property. At a glance the room looked decent and had dim lighting. I laid down on the bed briefly and immediately got a bug bite on my neck, so I pulled back the sheets and turned on my phone flashlight. The sheets and pillow cases had human hair, pubic hair, stains, and a bug in it. I took photos. It was clear that the dark hair was not mine or my husbands since we are both blonde and neither of us had been in the bed. The space that is supposed to have up to 7 guests in it has a tiny door that would require users to get on their knees to crawl out, not to code in case of a fire or other emergency. There are exposed wires throughout the property inside bedrooms and living spaces where children would be staying. There were signs of mouse infestations and unsecured doors where someone from another room could easily access your room. One full bathroom was available for the four rooms upstairs which would be for at least 15 guests, but I’m not certain how many other guest rooms were there. There was a toilet and sink on the main floor. The upstairs bathroom was dirty and looked like it had not been scrubbed in a long time. When I brought the condition of the sheets to the staff’s attention, the man whom I assume to be the property manager was very dismissive and said “They are clean,” and when I insisted that he come look at them, he acted annoyed and told a girl to go change the sheets. I showed her the hair on the sheets and pillow cases. We left and slept in our car that night. The owner asked us several times to cancel the reservation so we could not leave a review, saying I “might” get a “partial” refund if he could rebook after already he said we could not get refund.
