Facing southerly on the crest of a hill, with far-reaching countryside views is Skillywiddens holiday cottage – a private and secluded location for families and couples who are looking for a romantic getaway, beach holiday, tranquil retreat or a base from which to explore this beautiful area.

Close by are five gorgeous beaches, three sub-tropical gardens (Trebah, Glendurgan & Penjerrik), the Helford River, Penryn town, Falmouth town w/ Pendennis Castle, boat trips and so so much more!

Skillywiddens is well equipped and provides comfortable accommodation for you to relax and enjoy. With two large sets of sliding doors you can step out onto your own private wrap-around decking to enjoy the views across the wooded valley below and skyline. There is outdoor furniture for ‘alfresco’ dining, BBQ and seating throughout the large enclosed garden.

Morning and evening times cast dramatic long sweeping shadows across the lawns and meadows. The west-facing picture window often fills with a glorious sunset. We have a lovely wildlife pond that can also be viewed from the kitchen window.

Whatever the weather, natural light makes it feel open and airy and perhaps you might just want to stay at home and listen to the sound of quiet Cornwall while just relaxing.

Skillywiddens can be found at the end of a private lane in the small hamlet of Treverva. It offers a real escape and is very private with it's own parking area and entrances. As your hosts we live just next door so the cottage is very well looked after and we are available to help in any way we can to make your holiday as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

Included is central heating and all other utilities, linens & towels, WiFi/Broadband.
On arrival there is a Welcome Basket - also tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We have tried to think of all the little extras to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

We pride ourselves on our high standards of cleanliness for our guests wellbeing and we thoroughly clean the cottage for every changeover. Standard anti-bac cleaning spray and new fresh cloths will be left for guests to keep surfaces clean & sanitised in the bathroom and kitchen.

A Marvellous Stay at "Skillywiddens"
We stayed at “Skillywiddens” from 10th - 17th July 2022 and had a wonderful week. The house is furnished to a very high standard and well equipped, and the large garden (full of birdlife and including an unusual tree house) was a delight as was the extensive view over the attractive valley lying beyond the garden. Owners Sarah and Gerald made us feel very welcome. The house is just a few miles from Falmouth, Helford River and The Lizard peninsula. Coastal walks and beaches are within easy reach. A wonderful Cornish cottage
This property is the most wonderful find. Nestling in a quiet little corner of the beautiful Cornish countryside, the setting is to die for, the house beautifully designed, furnished and appointed. We wanted for nothing during our stay because our hosts had thought of absolutely everything. Our children were delighted with the treehouse in the beautiful, expansive garden and the vast array of books and games. We were delighted with the wonderful welcome basket of local fayre and the marvellous sun-trapping terrace equipped with comfortable sun loungers. Here we not only got to soak up the morning air but also enjoy many an evening of star gazing with the joy of no light pollution. The location has it all. It is close to wonderful beaches, both the Lizard and Lands End, to the well-provided shopping centre of Penryn and to Helford Passage and all that area has to offer. There is no shortage of things to do all within a few miles. This beautiful cottage is genuinely the nicest holiday cottage we've had the pleasure of staying in, and Sarah and Gerald wonderful hosts. Thank you so much. We plan to return soon.

Fabulous cottage with great view
Beautifully clean and tastefully decorated cottage with plenty of home comforts. Lovely view and delightful garden. We enjoyed watching the flocks of goldfinches and sparrows on the feeder just outside the picture window. Sarah and Gerald are welcoming hosts.

A hidden gem set in beautiful countryside, run by thoughtful and caring hosts.
What an amazing place run by an amazing couple. A true hidden gem that the listing doesn't do justice to. We were made to feel very welcome at this beautifully decorated, very clean and very well equipped cottage. The outlook makes you feel you are in the depths of the countryside and the garden has been beautifully and lovingly created. A real sanctuary and antidote to urban living. The real treasure are the hosts that made us feel so welcome, they let my children get involved in planting seeds, ride their garden tractor, let them explore the garden and even lent my son their guitar so he could continue his practice. We all loved it here and we will be back again for sure. Thank you for an amazing stay.

A relaxing break in a perfect setting
This is very comfortable, spacious property where the hosts have thought of everything their guests might need or enjoy. The garden, overlooking the Cornish countryside, is tranquil and beautiful. The property is well placed to enjoy the Helford River area and Falmouth, with plenty of options for walks and eating out. Highly recommended - we’ll be back. Thank you.

Beautiful and magical place
What an amazing stay at the most beautiful cottage. The pictures don't do it justice and the hosts, Sarah and Gerald couldn't be more helpful. They have literally thought of everything and the attention to even the smallest details is second to none. I can't recommend staying here any more highly and the location is wonderful to explore all the various areas in Cornwall! It really was amazing 😊

Wonderful Cottage Stay!
Our first holiday in Cornwall with our 4yr old twins & it has been very memorable. Everything about the cottage was perfect- well presented, spacious, private, child friendly/secure & thoughtful touches. We couldn’t have asked for more from our hosts, they looked after us so well with a welcome pack with lots of treats & some great local tips for places to explore. It was an action packed week & was lovely to relax on the veranda enjoying the beautifully presented gardens, wildlife & rolling hills. This was exactly what we needed & have made some memories that will last forever. We will definitely be returning & would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cottage stay to explore Cornwall.

Lovely accommodation in tranquil setting
Really well equipped and comfortable self contained accommodation with lovely views over garden and countryside beyond. Weather not great but we were well entertained by the numerous birds in the garden. An ideal location for the Lizard peninsula plus Lands End/Cape Cornwall within easy reach. Some nice pubs nearby for eating out too!!

Home from home with spectacular views
Fully equipped ,quiet ,peaceful private site with lovely gardens and spectacular views over countryside . Crowded bird feeders gave us plenty to watch . Central location for Falmouth , coastal path walks and 3 gardens (2 NT) . Friendly and helpful hosts ,and an excellent Welcome pack . We had a lovely change of scene .Booking for next year !

A great place to stay
Beautifully presented, excellently equipped, very comfortable furniture, wonderful garden and countryside views. This description does not do justice to the welcoming ambiance of this cottage, tucked away in the countryside but still with easy access to the coast and larger towns in this area. Having the helpful, friendly but not intrusive owners next door was an added bonus. We loved our time here and the contents of the welcome basket!

Amazing cottage fantastic owners
Renting this property was a delight from start to finish. The owners made the whole process easy, communication was quick and thorough, lots of information provided for The property and about the local area. We unfortunately had bad weather during our stay, owner Sarah went above and beyond to make things as bearable as possible especially for our daughter by bringing drawing pads and pencils and toys for her to play with. Would highly recommend both the beautiful cottage and the owners.

Relaxing Holidays
We were warmly welcomed to Skillywiddens by Sarah. A welcome basket was on the kitchen table and a few small things were in the fridge. Skillywiddens is a lovely little holiday home with a fantastic garden. Our daughter had a lot of fun in the pirate nest, with the pirate treasure chest and the other toys. We adults especially enjoyed the great view, the fantastic garden and spent hours watching the birds. The location is ideal: quiet and relaxing but a short distance from Cornwall's attractions and beaches. Everything was perfect. Many thanks to Sarah who made our stay unforgettable.
